By Steve Chryssos

The car started life as driver with mild 350 and nice yellow paint. I added Master Power 4 wheel discs and 17" rally wheels from Wheel Vintiques and called it a handling machine. A wicked highway collision occurred on July 5 1999 where a Pathfinder entering the highway from a rest area made an illegal U-turn directly in front of us. (He was trying to cross the grass median and head in the opposite direction) The car was totaled. Art Rasmussen released his frame that fall and the decision was made to rebuild the car.

The car will be SCCA and NHRA legal as well as street worthy. Chris Brown at Brown Auto Design and I worked up an aggressive design to counter the current crop of street rod based cars. Wheels, Roll Cage, Seats, Spoiler, etc. are all inspired by various forms of motor sports from NASCAR to LeMans. No billet or tweed anywhere. The stripes are inspired by one of the original, coolest g-machines of all time: the AAR 'Cuda. Look for part one of this build up in the July issue of Popular Hot Rodding on sale in late May / Early June.
