Does anyone know where I can get a 'soft' or coated 13/16" socket that I can use on my powedercoated lugs so they don't get messed up?

Thanks!

Sears. Craftsman has a set of sockets that have nylon inserts just for that reason.

I think Tom is looking for sockets coated on the OUTSIDE. Tom, we are just REAL careful at work. I have a couple of 3/8" drive 12-point sockets for just this reason. They are not coated but they are thin wall so there is more room between the wheel and the socket.

My bad Allen, I've never seen P/C lugs. I didn't even read it that close. ASSumed he was talking about scuffing the wheels themselves.

Maybe I'll qoute a movie as my new sig- "Assumption is the mother of all fu%^-ups".

It's cool Dennis. I only know because I've been to a few "Rice" fests.... You can learn a lot from a ...... (<-----insert proper word here). :Alchy: :icon996:

Allen was right on the first call - the lugs themselves are powdercoated and are on top of the wheel surface, so I'm worried about the lugs getting scratched. I'll check at Sears. I could spend hours wandering those tool isles...

Thanks!

Thanks Dave, I went ahead and ordered the ProTec ones. Couldn't find anything at Sears.
