I currently have an h pipe with flowmasters at the end exiting straight out before my rear axle and I am going to put some dumps on. Is there any interior sound reduction benefits from pointing the straight down or slightly outward? I am going to be welding flanges on to them so I cannot just slide them on and try it. When it's done it will have to be completely redone to be changed. I am putting flanges on them so I can get a set of tail pipes made and easily switch between the two when I want.

Running the dumps slightly to the side will help some but the resonance is going to still be bad.

I understand that if you run them at each other, instead of angling them out, you angle them in, it cancels some exhaust pulses, I've read about it and seen it on a few race cars, I don't have turn downs on my Nova, and basically the exhaust is falling off right now, so I don't drive it, bad exhaust/carbonmonxide poisioning, Steve

It may help a little, but flowmaster resonate tremendously in the interior, IMHO. I got rid of mine and went with Ultra Flo welded, and dumped them before the axle. I welded all my connections.
