2002 California Highway Patrol B4C EVOC Camaro Unit # 1111742

This 2002 California Highway Patrol (CHP) B4C (GM Police Package Option Code) Camaro Unit # 1111742 is one of only eight (8) 4th Generation CHP Camaro’s used for EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operator Course) High Speed Track duty at the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Training Academy in Sacramento California. This car is also one of only thirteen (13) total 2002 B4C Camaro’s produced by GM with a factory 2 tone Black and White paint scheme. All 13 two tone 2002 Camaro’s were sold by GM to the State of California.

This 2002 CHP EVOC Camaro is fully equipped with factory options to include the LS1 V8 Engine, 460LE Automatic Transmission, Limited Slip 3.42 Rear-End, Factory Aluminum Wheels, Power Rack & Pinion Steering, 4 Wheel ABS Power Disc Brakes, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Fog-lights, Tilt Steering, Factory Air Conditioning, Power Mirrors, Factory AM-FM-CD, Bucket Seats, Console, Power 6 Way Driver’s Seat, Power Rear Hatch, Tach/Gauges, Rear Window Defogger, Factory AM-FM-CD Radio, Tinted Glass and more! We purchased this car almost 2 years ago with a little over 17,000 ORIGINAL MILES when the car was retired from active CHP EVOC service. The ORIGINAL MILEAGE on this car at the time of this ad is a VERY LOW & ORIGINAL 22,212 MILES!

This car was originally put into CHP EVOC service at the CHP Academy in Sacramento California when new in 2002. This car remained in EVOC service with the CHP until sold at auction in October 2009. This car was modified for high speed track use by the CHP and was never a road patrol unit. Modifications include a complete 10 POINT FULL ROLLCAGE fabricated and installed by Chris Alston Chassis Works in Stockton California. The cost for the roll cage work in each of the 8 EVOC Camaro’s was $7,000 per car back in 2002. The front bucket seats in the car were modified to allow the use of 5 point racing belts. A complete Flowmaster exhaust system was also installed. The suspension received upgrades along with the installation of CHP graphics and special lighting unique to the CHP EVOC Camaro’s. The EVOC Camaro’s were ONLY driven by instructors for demonstration at the academy and NOT driven by recruits. Each EVOC Camaro was assigned to an CHP EVOC Driver Training Instructor for use and demonstrations at the Academy. These cars were driven hard during their service at the CHP Academy and were also seen by many civilians during demonstration days at the CHP Academy. There are MANY pictures and You-Tube Videos of these cars in action for your viewing pleasure on the internet. GOOGLE “CHP EVOC Camaro” for lots of In-Service You-Tube video’s of the CHP EVOC Camaro’s!

The exterior of the car is in excellent condition. The black paint is very nice. The front bumper covers is original and in good condition. The fog-lights are complete and in working condition. The fenders are excellent along with the original hood. The original doors on the car are original with the correct CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL livery installed on the doors. The rear quarter panels are excellent. The rear bumper cover is nice and shows evidence of a little nose to tail action from precision demonstration driving exhibitions by the license plate. Refer to the You-Tube videos listed below to see what I mean by nose to tail rubbing! The floor pans on the car are superb! All the glass in the car is excellent. The rear hatch still retains the dark window tint installed by the CHP. Overall the exterior condition of this car is excellent. THIS CAR is by far THE BEST of the 6 EVOC offered for sale by the CHP at the October 2009 auction and probably the best of all 8 of the EVOC Camaro‘s. The license plates on the front and rear of this CHP EVOC Camaro are REPRODUCTIONS of the original CHP In-Service license plates assigned to this car when in-service with the CHP. These plates are strictly for show purposes and are not original to the car or legal for registration and/or vehicle operation. The side door graphics are reproductions of the original livery graphics when in-service.

Mechanically the car is in good condition and runs and drives great. The LS1 engine starts and runs great. The automatic transmission shifts firm. The brakes are excellent and the tires are fair. The air conditioning is nice and cold and the heat is nice and hot. All the gauges work properly. The power windows, power door locks, automatic headlights, radio, gauges, rear hatch release, cruise control and power mirrors all work properly. The tires on the car are a set of Cooper Zeon ZPT “Z” speed rated tires. Cooper Tires was the tire supplier for the EVOC Camaro’s. These are the correct tires use by CHP on this car at the CHP Academy. This is the set of tires and wheels on the car when purchased at the CHP auction. The flow master exhaust sounds great! Under the hood everything is complete as expected. The car has full emissions and catalytic converters in place. There are NO check engine lights, NO ABS lights and NO Airbags lights illuminated on this car. There are NO service codes or problems with the computer. This car is ready to ride and drive just as I have done for the last 5,000 miles!

The interior of the car is in nice condition. The full Chris Alston Chassis Works Roll Cage is in excellent condition with padding as installed and used at the CHP Academy. The dash is excellent as is the console, door panels headliner. The original carpet is nice. The original floor mats are in the car. The tilt steering column and original steering wheel are good. The original seats were modified by the CHP for use of 5 point racing seat belts for the driver and passenger. The blue Simpson 5 point racing harness’s are correct for this specific car . This EVOC Camaro was equipped with blue Simpson 5 point belts when in-service as at the CHP Academy as reported to me by the last EVOC Training Sergeant assigned to this car. I have installed a center armrest console lid on the car for driving comfort however the center console lid was not in the car when in-service as this is where the CHP GE Ranger radio head was mounted in the console. The radio microphone mount is still present on the console. The rear carpet and trim is in good condition. The CHP installed STICO brand hidden radio antennae is still installed in the car. This antennae was used by the CHP for communication with the CHP unique GE Ranger Low Band radio.

I HAVE PERSONALLY DRIVEN THIS CAR OVER 5,000 MILES to car shows and on the 2011 Hot Rod Power Tour in the last year. This car runs and drives fantastic as you would expect from a low mileage Camaro. This is a very NEAT & VERY COLLECTIBLE 4th Generation Camaro that draws a crowd everywhere you go!
