Anybody have GOOD supplier for plain black underhood sound deadening material? I do not want foil faced or 12" squares. No spray on materials. Thanks

The product that comes to mind is a foam sound absorbing material that does have a foil face. This is needed to reflect heat away from the hood and to keep oil and stuff from being absorbed by the foam. There is a coating called Tedlar that is black but I'm not sure how durable it is. There is also the option of spraying the foam with vinyl dye. But it wont be sealed from moisture, oils etc. I guess that you could paint the foil black. I can provide one of several foam insulations that will work. Figure on a cost of about 6 dollars per square foot.
