$24,000

SS clone / 136 VIN, so you can hot rod it anyway you want.

Here is the basic gist of the car: A Big Block 66 Chevelle Super Sport that runs, drives and looks like new, and looks "period correct" for the most part. A concourse guy might pick apart the small details, but everyone else LOVES THIS CAR. We felt like Rock Stars driving it in the local Christmas Parade

The body was drag raced for a while, shows 27k, so should be 127k miles on the shell.

A body shop bought the body from the drag racer, and did a full paint job/restoration: fender wells firewall, rubberized undercoating on bottom of floor pan. Splatter painted the truck.

The previous owner bought the Roller from the body shop, and since the drag racer had ditched most of the interior, the previous owner had to buy everything new. The previous owner owned a business, so it was easier for him to call Ausleys and order parts, so there are Ausley’s receipts for almost everything on/in/under the car.
I have around $17k in receipts. the roller was $10k, so the cost was $27k to build the car.

It sat for a year in the previous owner’s garage as part of his collection. He never got it out on public roads.
I bought it, and have used it as a DD, and driven it in the local Christmas Parade. I have slowly been working the “new car” bugs out of it. I rebuilt the Carb, and changed out the tires, just fixing small things.

Fresh professional alignment by a Chevelle enthuisiast (buddy has 2 chevelles , and is a mechanic at a major shop, so he helped the alignment guy do all the work, steering wheel is perfectly centered, you can let go of the steering wheel going down the road, stays straight)

The only thing the car needs now is:
-Flywheel could be resurfaced: chatters a tiny bit on initial engagement ever so often (like when trying to creep into the garage). Receipt for flywheel & clutch (lifetime warranty from Advance) are included in paperwork.
-ignition timing set: I need to buy the piece of tape for a BBC damper (or mark the correct place on the pulley with a magic marker) so you can see it with the light, and set all three: base timing, vacuum advance, and total advance. It is making about 375 horsepower right now, it will burn first gear with just throttle and get all squirrelly, and once you get it straight and grab second, it does the squirrel again. It will probably be near 400hp with a tweak and tune. Runs fine as is, but would probably purr a bit better with it set perfect, now that the motor has been driven a bit.

Here is what I know is new:
Motor – late 60’s mild 427, fresh rebuild, mild cam, OEM style period correct tins from Ausley. Dressed as a 396/375hp (most people say you cannot visually discern a 427 from a 396 unless you pull numbers)
Distributor – Accel HEI unit with vacuum advance. (all black, looks stockish)
Carburetor – holley 750 dual feed, double pump, vacuum secondary, rebuilt last week due sitting a year.
Transmission – rebuilt 4 speed, previous owner says is a M-22. Drives/shifts perfect.
Headers – Hooker long tube super comp- ceramic coated
Exhaust: Flow master American Thunder 3 inch kit, with crossover
Speedometer cable
Alternator & bracket & belts (Alternator is new style internally regulated, 14.7v at trunk mount battery)
Radiator & shroud & fan & hoses
Interior: carpet, headliner, visors, bows, doors panels, and seats redone.
Windshield wiper arms.
Correct SS trim inside & out, dressed up as a correct 396, dash and all emblems done right.
Front-end parts: control arm bushings, balljoints, and big block springs
Body mount bushings
Clutch linkage
Hurst shifter, boot, and hardware.
Fuel tank & sending unit
Steering column: reworked original
Tires & rims: have 18x7 and 18x9.5 Torq Thrust 2’s on way, (rims and tires never driven on, from buddies old project). They have the gray center, not sure if I will like them better than the current 18’s on there now (they are 18x8 and 18x9.5)

Here is what I know is used
Rear end – 12 bolt with disk brakes, no emergency brake.
Front disk brakes – looks like OEM style 67 components, stops hard & straight.
HVAC system – No AC. the heater core is supposed to be new. I was not going to do anything, because you do not need heat in SC, and it is fast enough, you will not need AC. The foot well vents draw in a lot of air, so it will cruise cool enough in the summer.
Some of the odd nuts & bolts were re-used
Seat frames – hardware is old, upholstery, foam and covers are all new. Work great, could use some krylon if you get bored

Lovely car! Somebody needs to buy it and remove the factory 4 wheel drive.
