Well, as the title says, I'm working with a clean slate. I have a 1970 Pontiac Lemans with the stock suspension under it including the work worn our rubber bushings. I have replaced the stock sway bar with a hotckis 1 1/4 inch bar and added a 1 inch rear bar. So what next? I'm thinking of keeping the stock control arms in the front and just putting new polyurethane bushings and ball joints. In the rear I have new lower arms, but the uppers are stock. Sould I change them? I'm thinking of overhauling the steering with new linkage and changing out the box. Mabey a Lee box. Any recommendations? I want this to be a spirited and reliable driver, not a track car.

Thanks

Hi John.

We have a '72 and have been outfitting a ton of Pro-Tour cars lately. You can check out our first build here: http://www.umiperformance.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=72lemans

We're currently starting a frame-off resto on this same car.

I'd be happy to work with you on a package to meet your goals. UMI uppers give a great handling improvement at a good price point. Made in Philipsburg, PA USA.

We have 1/2" taller ball joints as well. For a budget package, use our uppers with a fresh set of poly bushings in the lowers.

Lee's 670 boxes work great. I have a Lee on my race car and we're looking at one for the LeMans.

Good luck on your project and let me know if you need any tech help.
