View Full Version : Installed spc upper have question

ok i need a little help what is wrong here the upper arm is sitting on the frame? do i need to detach the sway bar link? something does seem right.
will it settle down on the weight of the car once i put the wheel back on? when i jack up the lower at a point now i am lift the whole car the coil spring
isn't compressing up any more?5413254133

54135i know i read that someone on this site had this same issue but just cant seem to find it now. i am in the garage and was hoping someone could shed some light on this

There is no "droop stop" for lack of a better term with SPC upper arms. With the weight on the wheels there should be no contact unless you are getting the front wheels off the ground.

Yes, set it back on the tires and see what happens. With the car on stands, lifting on the A arm doesn't work the same way as if the car were on the ground. Unless your ride height is that high, you should be fine... EXCEPT when the front of the car unloads. Those control arms are designed for lowered cars, and don't have the stock dogleg in them (obviously). You may have limited up travel if you are close to stock ride height.

Pro-charged big block and stock brakes... :jawdrop:

That is how mine looked on the 442. Once you set it down on the wheels all will be well. If you want take some heater hose and cut it in half long ways and slip it under the CA.

oh come on Ray, don't you remember the old days?? isky cammed 396....twin 650 dp on a tunnel ram, 4 speed, 4:56 gears, stock drum brakes and a single line master cylinder??? set up on my old 55 210. LOL

normal, no provisions for a travel stop.
