I decided not to start this project due to relocating next summer.

With that said, I'd like to sell this to someone interested in giving the PT treatment to a decent 3rd Gen with potential. The body is in good shape, it's got a fresh 350 and 700r4 trans. Interior is in pretty good condition and the dash pad looks new.

I recently installed custom made coil springs from Coil Spring Specialties (800lb/in front and 200lb/in rear), a UMI double adjustable panhard bar, and UMI control arm relocation brackets.

I also replaced the stock calipers and pads and the rear drum wheel cylinders and shoes.

With the Intro Pentia wheels and new Nitto tires, $4000.

With the stock Z28 wheels and so-so tires, $2200.

It's in Leesburg, VA. I can email you more pics if you want, just tell me what you want to see.

Thanks! I think I'm going to put the stock wheels on it, take some new pictures, and see what happens on ebay.

And there are two bad spots on the paint...

Driver side door:

Passenger side fender:

The seat on the driver side doesn't go with the car. I was seeing how it fit and it's a little too big for the space, so the stock seat will go back in.

There's obviously been no action on my Camaro. It's a decent car and could be used as a daily driver, but needs some TLC. I might list it on ebay next weekend but before I do, can any of you 3rd gen experts suggest an opening bid and/or reasonable reserve price? I'm not trying to make a profit (I most likely will lose money) but with my future life changes (retirement from the CG) coming up in the next 6-8 months, I have no room/time/funds for this car. TIA for any input.

Hi Herb,

My best suggestion would be to offer it for $3200-$3500 with the wheels or sell the wheels separately for $1600-$1800 and the car for $1800-$2000. I'd be surprised if you can sell it for more than about $1800 unless you luck upon somebody who really wants it. It's sad really because a good clean 3rd gen is so hard to find and they are a great starting point for anyone looking to build a great handling car. I've had several of them and never been able to sell one for more than about $3500 and it had a hot LT1/T56 in it (which is why the guy bought it). Mine has a teardown fresh paint job and a low mile LT1/4L60E and I doubt I could get more than about $3500-$4000 for it. I hope this doesn't offend you - I am definitely not trying to do so. If I hear of anyone looking to buy a nice 3rd gen, I will definitely send them your way.

Geoff,

That's kinda what I was thinking. I'll put the stock wheels back on it, list it on ebay for $1500 with no reserve and let it go. I have no problem hanging on to the wheels and tires, they don't take up much room and I can always save them for some unknown project down the road.

Not to mention the wheel/tires will add weight if you do your own move when you retire ;)

Thanks!

The wheels are Intro Pentia, 18x8 (4.5" bs) and 18x10 (5.25" bs) with Nitto 555 tires, 245/40-18 and 285/35-18. The wheels are in great shape, just need a little polishing to look new again. The front tires are a little old but still look new and the rear tires are new, just bought them around Jul/Aug.

What is your best price shipped to Miami. Also do you know if they will clear C5 brakes?

I'll think about the price, check shipping costs, and get a picture or two when I get home tonight. Yes they'll clear C5 brakes, that's what was on my El Camino, which is what these wheels used to be on.

Well, I'm sure we could work something out if you're really interested...

Unfortunately I can't seem to move the Centerlines on it now and would need to do so to be able to buy yours I'm sure. You'll be able to unload them quickly though, they look great.
