I recently picked up a set of steering knuckles / spindles for my 79 Z28 that I'm upgrading to C5/6 brakes. I didn't want to cut my originals. The spindles came very well packed, had been cleaned and blasted. All threads and tapers are in great shape, but one spindle has what looks like machining marks on the taper between the inner / out bearing races. The marks are little "gouges" with no raised metal around the half dozen spots. Looks like it was machined after.
Will this be a safety problem down the road? I'm assuming that they were there when the car was first made, so perhaps it's not a problem at all.
Thanks!
