Is everyone ready for next weekend? I'll only be there on Saturday, but I've still done a ton of maintenance work to my IROC to get it ready. I even found a couple things I didn't know were wrong and got them fixed. I just have to get the toe-out set. With that done it should be all good. :-)

Robert( RS_Customs) did you not get the memo that you are NOT allowed to run ? Since I have your seats does that mean my car will be faster ? I can't wait till Friday !!

You can always hope they will make you faster, they should at least make you feel faster though lol. Oh, and have a couple trick up my sleeve too lol.

I'm still having some fuel issues...just MIGHT get them worked out before Friday. But it runs in first gear well. Which is good for our little track. Got one of my buddies coming down Thursday night to help diagnose.

But I'm SO ready to get out there and run some. I don't know about you guys...but I might return to RedTop after the show Saturday and get in about 150 more laps before heading home. I just love flogging this truck!!!

'79 T/A will not be attending. Carb or fuel pump issues. Won't feed the 4-barrel for more than a second before falling on it's nose.

Adjusting the parking brake on those rear disc brakes is a real PITA... still haven't gotten good pedal yet.... no air in the lines, though.

So..... the '06 GTO with air conditioning and 25 mpg on the cruise down there is starting to look like the favored choice for me.
But the '73 Vega isn't completely out, yet. It's completely stock except for the HEI ignition, '77 5-speed and steel sleeved block. .... NO A/C....

I know I'm looking forward to it! Mine should be ready after today - getting the toe-out set per David Pozzi's recommendations. It's my first time driving my IROC doing something like this!

Still not ready...shop couldn't get my car on their new alignment rack. The alignment tech is supposed to be making some longer wooden ramps to get it up on the rack tomorrow (I hope!). Ug...

Thinking about it I probably need to change the oil in mine too... There's always something!

Hey Jeff, I've been dying in this heat! Is there any shade around the track? If not, how about some ezups? I've got one from my mx days, although I'm not sure that it will fit in the back of my Mustang. Anyway I'm really looking forward to 2 days of autoxing. This is gonna be great!

There is some shade by the trees on the west and southern end of the course. Also, the auction building has a covered awning where a lot of us set up chairs. I'll have my ezup tent there with our stuff, and probably will have a few cold waters or gatorade's. I suggest everyone bring a small cooler with ice and some drinks to stay hydrated.

Jeff, not sure I can fit it in, but would I be allowed to bring my shop fan and an extension cord to plug in to the building?

Thanks for the info Sparky. There's only one place hotter than a parking lot in the summer, and I don't think they have cars there. ;-)

You forgot to armour-all the steering wheel. I'll make sure to do that for you when you get here, lol.

I'm ready! Tightened up some nuts and bolts on the inside to remove some rattles (for spouse approval since we're driving the IROC up in the morning), washed it, checked the air in the tires, and did one last once over before taking a test drive. Big improvement! :) I can't wait for tomorrow - big fun!! I even bought Harry's Laptimer to play with and record my runs.
