You talking to me?

One thing at a time, it looks like my dash vomited wires right now. If The car is done I'll be there.

I suck at go carts. I don't like to use brakes and many spins ensue. If vendors want someone "taken out" I could be bought (evil laugh).....

And why can't I wear a dress? Jason said he was....

Come on Donny lets see how you do out of your car. I talked with Chris today and he said he maybe coming.

Oh, and if you want to wear a dress you can.......

Damn Darrin, you could at least use my name!!! LOL

I departed before the rain, unintentionally, but lucky none the less.

Some very hot cars on the Autocross, Brandy in the Specter Camaro was pretty quick with I believe the fastest time before I left, Randy Johnson was chasing her close behind, there was a very quick little hot rod (did not catch owners name) sporting an LS engine that seemed very fast as well, Chris in the Malibu, Bob Bertlesen in his CODE RED '72 Firebird (I love this car), Ryan in the DSE Nova, Randy & Bob McGaffin were out taking turns beating the snot out of that little yellow 1st Gen Mustang (again the real owner's name escapes me) that I've seen at the GG shows before.....and many others.

Was great meeting Darrin in person for the first time too!! The weather was great, until the rain hit. I saw it coming as I was leaving, and I could see it was not going to be good.....that's like the 3rd year in a row that this show saw rain, bummer!!

My favorite car at the show was the white '62 Bel Aire bubble top from RPM Hot Rods (home of the "RUNT"). Complete with fuel injected big block, the car was simply SICK. You guys at RPM really put out some seriously beautiful cars!!!

(Personal opinion) - the food prices are really stupid at this show......$5 for an iced tea? $19 for a corn dog & fries + drink? Hate to see what a bottle of water went for. Half a dozen food vendors ALL serving the pretty much same thing? I mean it is what it is when you are there, you are a captured audience but still. I'm just sayin' :hand:

that was me!! I had a riot.

For those that didn't go Sunday, you missed the Aveo challenge. We took Chad's (bangshift.com) rental car and loaded it with people and ran the autocross. Someone managed to roll the right front tire right up to the hubcap. Chad finished with the best time but Jason Childress won huge style points for running the course in reverse.....yep, reverse....I almost vomited in his face from the back seat....

And yeah, where was the burrito guy? that stuff was awesome!

Great time!

Donny I missed the reverse pass in the Aveo. I was in the orange 67 Camaro next to you on Sunday. Has your wife been doing any more "little burnouts" in the roadster? That cracked me up when you told me about it. Later Eric

If you haven't heard this one, my lovely wife took the car during lunch break to give some tickets to her family. I'm eatin some chicken on a stick when I hear what i thought was Warren Johnson cleaning the slicks. Me and another guy chuckle to ourselves and say "damn hotrodders".....my wife returns and I ask if she found them alright. She says "yep, no problem......... uhhh, I might have done a little burnout...." We went to look sunday morning and there was 60 feet of rubber on the ring road......I love my wife.

Angela hasn't driven much since then, she managed to make a clean autocross pass, mid 39 I think, and then I drove home.

We are going back to Joliet for SCCA autox so she can get some seat time and woopass in KC.

Donny, I didn't get a good close look at your car, but it looked and sounded AWESOME on the autocross. Didn't you just get that beast back together?
It was one of my favorite cars there!! What was your best time? You looked pretty damn quick.

Donny, here you go. The bangshift .com Aveo rent a car running the auto cross with a load of passengers. I am surprised the the tires didn't roll off the rims in the turns! Chad will be posting more coverage picture shortly.

Wow!

I could not have had more fun (except for the rainy parts).
I hung out with old friends and met some new friends.
I put a bunch of autocross laps on my car and also got a lap or two as a passenger in the following cars:
The Spectre Camaro driven by Brandy on Saturday, Gerry Kern’s beautiful “Runt” on her first run thru the course on Sunday, Chad’s rental Aveo with 5 people in it with Chad driving and a extremely nasty LS powered Nissan 240.

Thanks to Chris Jacobs on the driving tips, which improved my very next lap. Unfortunately; shortly after that I went right back to my crappy jack-rabbit style. I must get smoother.

Here’s a fine example of my incorrect autocross style, followed by others who can stay inside of the cones.

I was there on Sunday and man I thought I was rough on rental cars!!!
That little car reminded me of something from the circus when all 5 of those guys(and gals) would climb out!

I about pi**ed myself laughing each time they ran it! Couple times I had to cover my eyes because I thought she was going over!!

Sliding it across the finish line with tires smoking.....priceless!!! LOL

Thanks for the posting, I didn't get over to the timing board to see where I made it.

I still can't believe I got 5th. I could feel I had so much more left in my driving to get down into the 35's and on sunday I ran a time of 35.580 Which felt really good and smooth with more speed left to go in a few more places. It was a very fun coarse compared to the peanut of last year. I was able to work different lines for the entrance lap and the exit lap that made a big difference.

I had a lot of fun and was glad to see everyone.
