View Full Version : Type II pump Fittings and Hose Help....

Hey guys..well i planning on upgrading my power steering system and i got my new DSE Type II pump,mounts...etc...i was wondering if anyone else was running that style pump and what pressure fitting they used and how they route their PS lines.......any help is appreciated....just wanted get some ideas before i start working on it....

Typcially I run a -06AN adapter, then a 90 degree fitting on the hose, and the hose routed under the pump over to the steering rack.

Seems to me that that would flow better than a 90 degree fitting, and every bit of flow matters. .He sells them for $30 on his site, I was looking into this last night, and it costs that much for the build it yourself parts.

Good call on that pump, I know that my AGR box wants 3.1 GPM and the DSE pump flows sufficiently. Im going to hunt down junkyards on my box.

yea thats keith at custom works...i'm planning on ordering some his hoses....i like that setup too!

I'm sure that works OK, but is typically not recommended because air gets trapped at the high point in the loop.

I agree. I was going to do a remote reservoir and mount it up on my cylinder head using an old AC bracket, keeping it above the bottom of that hose. Might make my own bracket for the pump too, gotta see how much steel is.
