My 7.5 rear end has some issues so it is time to upgrade and here are my options from what I gather.

1) rebuild the 7.5 with a true-trac and call it a day.

2) get a Moser 9" with Baer SST+ brakes

3) get a Currie Trac-9 rear with Bear SST+ brakes

I couldn't afford the 9" rears until the end of summer which would leave me without the car all summer! Doing the true-trac in the stock housing would let me drive the car this summer but won't give me any added strength.

What would you all do?

btw...the motor is putting out about 400-425 hp and the stock G80 code rear lasted 180,000 miles.

No personal experience here so excuse the conjecture. I've been considering the swap to a 9" as well, and have read enough threads on various forums to make me apprehensive about Mosers quality control over the last few years. Predominately axle issues, can't remember any problems with the actual housing off hand.

Here's a thread containing one fellows experience. It contains other links siting quite a few other issues/failures. http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/index.php?showtopic=14531&hl=moser

That was a enough to push Currie up a notch on my list. Some other places worth researching and calling are:
