I am test fitting my Tri-4bar on my 68 Camaro.

I've gotten the old rails out of the way and raised the AME into place. The rear of clip is up against the rear valance without having the rear caps in place. As I continue to jack the rest of the clip into place the front of the Clip is hitting on the floor pan where it drops down into the rear foot area.

Also the bend in the rails looks too far forward to line up with the floor pan.

My first thought was to trim the rear of the rails 1/2" to give it the needed clearance and make up for it with the rear cap.

I just figured I would ask before I start cutting into a piece of Artwork.

I hope the pics help

Any Help is greatly appreciated

I would move what you would need to move in the body, you know the frame is square.

But question for you....how is this car supported?

how about the rear? you may have some sag with the frame structure cut out.

I had another set of jackstands under the trunk floor but i had to remove them to slide the clip under the car

I responded to your post at Lateral-G. Shoot me an email if you still need help!

Don't worry a whole lot about the rear sagging, most of the support is done by the quarters. The rails in these cars really don't add much support, I suspect most of their purpose is to positively locate the rear spring eye. You'll notice a big difference when switching from the 2x3x0.040 U-channel (yes, .040" thick), to a 2x4x0.120 rectangular tube...a healthy increase in stiffness!

Thanks for the help, I talked to Kevin at AME today and he had me on the right path by the time I was off work at noon.

I had to add some extra weight in the car to allow the Jack to do it's job.

In the end Art Morrison is on the top of list of places to shop again. Great company and a great customer service.

Thanks for the help.
