What are people using for an overflow tank or reservoir on their differential?
It's a DTS 9"

Thanks,
Kevin

Art Morrison has one in their catalogue....

You dont really need one... if it's vented correctly.

If you do, the diff is over full... or even worse, the vent is in the wrong place all together.

I use a -8AN with a length of hose with a loop in it... and a small K&N push in filter.

Drivetrain Specialist put the vent hole in the differential. It's located on the passenger side of the housing. It's party way down the slope of the housing going from the center to the axlw shaft. I had a screw in filter and lost some on a 10 miles drive.
I thought I read that if you have a tru-trac or other you would probably need a tank due to the temps it creates and the expansion of the fluid.
I wasn't sure how much the fluid would expand. A -8AN for some length might be enough. I don't know.
Thanks,
Kevin

Take a -8AN... screw it into the housing like this (upper left side of housing) :

And then add something like this:

If his vent is in the axle tube, a K&N won't work under a Camaro. Been there, done that.(Unless you like axle grease underneath)

Nope... it sure wont. He would have to use one of those 'spring' loaded' steel cap designs... like:

My breather hole is in the same location you have the arrow in the picture.

I have a drain hole at the bottom and a filler cap towards the top. I filled the fluid to a hole plug found on the "pig" side. Is this the correct fill height? I just looked at the 9 inch under my neighbors 40 Ford. His plug to check the level is on the side facing the back of the car. It's about half way up simliar location as the fitting welded in the picture above.
Thanks again for the help.

James Shipka (the OLC Camaro) uses my fuel vent setup for his differential. It's a bit overkill, but works great. He's got pictures of that somewhere.

Yes Kevin, that would be the correct fill level... for a 'wet tube' housing.

The very same... I'd head over to CC and PM him... and see if he can get you one on the side or if he has a perfered outlet for the sale of said device.
