OK Guys, Everything is set, registration is officially open. All years, cars are welcomed, though we prefer American rear wheel drive.
Remember, this is a no refund event, we will run rain or shine. If you buy a spot and then can not make it, it is up to you to sell your spot. I simply don't have the time to be the broker. As all my events go, selling a spot has never been a problem, we always have a waiting list. This event is open to the first 60 PAID spots. You must go to my paypal, and pay or pm me for my address if you prefer sending check or money order. Your spot is not reserved until payment.
Thanks guys, this will be a huge event and we are looking forward to it, see everyone there.

Since the days off work for once is there an issue with abusing a rent a wreck? Might be able to make one event this year even if it means flying in and running something that isnt mine. Id love to do run to the coast, but the days cant possible work with my job and the time of the year being right in the middle of our busiest season.

What you do with your rental car is between you and your rental company..... We don't check pink slips.

Not sure what you are asking. The track is providing required insurance for their property, etc, but insurance on your car usually stops the minute you are on the track, check with your policy.

As a general rule, from what people are telling me, generally they run in groups and get 4 to 5 twenty minute sessions a day on the big track. We will be working with the track with their normal setup and then the groups not running the big track will be over getting in their autocross laps. If we run 15 car groups, we should be at about 4 groups, maybe 5 with vendors, so I think we will be on track here.

When I do most track days I buy track day insurance. Its about $125.00 per $20,000 insured. If you want I could see if they would cover a pro-tour day.

Last time I was on track at Monticello Motor sports with an Exotic car club ... a few bit the dust. Here is a pic of one guy I took that wished he got track insurance.

Would I need to attend a driving school if I have never been on a road course or do I just pay the $225 and bring my helmet? I've been using an 02' Zo6 as a daily driver for a couple years but really have the itch to get on a road course with it. Im in Pa so this event sounds very do-able to me.

I am sure their will be instructors. On most HPDE days the helmet has to be Snell 2000 rated or better. Track days are not races ... As every instructor stresses ... check your ego at the door and learn to drive and have fun. The Ferrari in the above pic could have been saved if he just listen to his instructor, but he felt that if he spent over 200K on a car .. he knew how to drive.

We will group people with like skills together as much as possible. After the first session, I feel we will move people around so people running similar times will be together. This does too things. First it keeps the slower guys out of the fast guys way, Second the slower guys are not nearly as nervous since no one is eating their rear and pushing them out of the way.

I have been following the thread and see a bunch of posts asking about On Track coverage. That is what I specialize in and can provide the coverage on a package basis. We offer annual insurance policies where you choose how many track events you want to participate in per year (we offer packages of 5, 10, 15 & 20 events). Shoot me an email at [email protected] if you are interested and I'll email you back our 1 page application.

Ohh, and a quick note in regards to helmets. Snell 2000 expired in October of 2010. You will need a Snell 2005 or newer to pass any track day tech.

Bill Howell

Spectators are welcomed and wanted! There will be a gate fee for coming and we are working on that price now, but by all means come and bring your friends. There was some confusion about this early in the game, my fault, but yes we want people there and they have room at the track for spectators.

you should add the name of the city and state its being held at in the thread topic. i found this out just because i reading someone's build thread and caught wind of it towards the end. pure luck really. i wouldn't have paid it any mind but then i read "vineland" and realized they were talking about vineland, nj where they will be staying (which just so happens to be my home town)

Children can come watch, no one under 10. Their parents will have to sign a release. They can be counted as crew, remember 3 people per car. After that anyone else has to pay at the gate.

Ok, so the SA is for "automotive" and the M is for "motorcycle". ..And the difference is the fire rating (SA being more fire resistant).

Norm Peterson
03-28-2011, 03:02 AM
The year matters because new standards are issued every 5 years, and helmets meeting the current or two immediately preceding standards seems to be the general rule. I do know that SCCA Solo (autocross) still accepts M2000's.

There are other differences between 'M' and 'SA' - more information here

M helmets are not allowed at NJMP, period. I have said that for months. In NJ, from what I am told the state police control safety and they do not allow M helmets, which, IMO makes sense as M helmets don't protect your HEAD against FIRE! Come on guys, it is your HEAD how much is it worth to YOU?

Just based on autocross experience, I would plan on spending some time setting up and getting ready for tech. Loose stuff & floor mats out of the car, checking lugnut torque & tire pressures, etc. If the autocross course is open for walking, you'll want to get that in, too.

Tech is from 7 to 8, need to get car ready and teched. Also we have run groups, you need to register with Melinda, get car numbers, etc if you haven't already. Then as Norm said, just good to go over the car, get your head into the game etc.

I just want to thank everyone for participating. You guys are a great crowd, and my crew and I had an awesome time at the event. Thanks for the kind words. I wasn't instructing, but it was either Ahren or Bill who helped you out. I'll pass the word along. To this day, I still bring an instructor along after I get a run or two in to get input on my line and technique. Having the video also helps for future events. Why not bring it out to a couple of SCCA autocrosses this year?

You could probably run in novice class, but even if you end up running in the regular C-Prepared or E-Modified, it'll still be "seat time". South Jersey Region (the guys putting on the RTTS auto-X), North Jersey Region, and Philly Region all have events this year within fairly reasonable driving time of Central NJ. You would have to join SCCA, but dues are good for a year. www.autoX4u.com has an overall schedule.

And like Chris said, it's really satisfying to see these cars being driven around corners, and not gently so.

I realize that you might have had other things on your mind at the time, but do you think that a 25 mph drive around the perimeter access road, maybe out to the main gate and back would have helped enough?

I pulled off the roadcourse and drove directly to the line at the autocross... the car ran cool on the roadcourse (180*) but as soon as it sits at idle (in line at the autocross) the temp goes up (215*-220*)... especially after flogging it...lol

The problem was no fan shroud... def putting one one this week...

The whole day was an absolute blast though!!!!
