View Full Version : IDing a 200-4R and a 700R4

i need to know how i can tell the difference between a 200-4r and a 700r4 while its sitting in the car and the car is on the ground? also if your going to swap in a th350 in place of either what all is needed? Thanks

The pan on a 200-4R is HUGE!!! The 700-R4 is smaller. The other way to tell is if you can see the tail shaft housing. The 70 has a bolt on, while the 200 is integrated. Take a look at the pic in my web page for the top of a 200-4R. There's a link in my profile.

Now, for what you'd need to do either swap. It all depends on which one you're installing and into what. I had to have a crossmember made for my car to install the 200-4R I installed. It is the same length as the TH350, so I used the same drive shaft. You can also check out Bowtie Overdrives for a listing of just what you'd need.

thanks Allen. I think I am dealing with a 200 here. It is in a regal that i believe to be a turbo regal, but it has a 350 under the hood right now so i was unsure of the trans. id only swap to a 350 if this over drive trans turns out to be no good. the 350 is so much cheaper and will work fine for what i have planned.
