Here are a few videos from Saturdays Goodguys Autocross in Pleasanton. The course was fast for a Goodguys event.

Thanks Mary. It was a blast running this weekend and I am looking forward to next spring having a little fun with the Corvette until my Camaro is done. Good luck with your Camaro and we will have some fun together next spring.

Did anyone get any pics or video of that Fairmont and a few others? My batteries were dead in my camera so I didn't. That Fairmont was clean and sounded rad.
My favorites were 1)The red 65 Vette above
2)The silver 240Z with LS2
3)The silver Fairmont
I was in the T Type, It was my first time and it won't be my last. I had a blast.

Thanks! It's a project in the works. I was surprised it did as well as it did being a big, mostly stock car and being my first time (that and my ass was sliding all over the leather bench seat, Ha!) I ran a best of 36.0something.
There were some cool cars and cool people there for sure.

Glad to see you out there having fun and I did take some pictures of almost all the cars that ran. The Fairmont kicked butt and I don't think it's his first time at this rodeo ...

Ha... Kyle you sly dog... filming us. What the film doesn't capture is Mary's.. hrmm.. narration of the events while in motion. Due to the fact that children might view this website... I won't repeat them. lol.

On another note... anybody capture any pics/video of Jon and I's near "don't tell mom" incident on the track? I let Jon drive me around in the G8 for a run, he was doing a pretty damn good job for never really driving the car 'at speed' I'll give him that. Although out of all my friends he does have the most seat time in it... so his level of comfort in the car is probably higher than say my other friends. That being said, he was handling it pretty well........right up until he hit a patch of dirt... or grease...or leprechaun ... who knows, we sure as heck don't. But he pitched it to turn right... the car responded and went into a tanks slapper to the left and we went sliding perpendicular to the direction of the track. The nose of the car slid past the "tree" by not much, and we stopped before the K-rails, which were on *my* side. Once she let go we were along for the ride...

I had another good run where half way thru the last corner before the finish the car broke lose but I stayed in the throttle till past the flags and was full opposite lock... Jon said it was epic... but nobody else saw it. I kept asking folks if they saw that run. Which is ok I guess, cause prior to the Epic Win finish, there was an Epic Fail in the form of a BIG push at the big turn on the start line side... car definitely didn't want to go where I told it to. So I'm ok people *not* seeing that. lol

But, can't complain. I had to relearn how the car handles sorta. Rob Phillips (Black/Copper '69 Chevy C10 that was there) and I installed subframe connectors on the G8 a few days before going up. Didn't think adding some braces to the bottom of the car would help that much, but sure seems to pimp slap some of the body roll away. Car feels more stiff and quicker to respond, but also feels like it wants to sling the rear around more being stiffer. Which is fine by me, what is it they say... Understeer scares the driver, Oversteer scares the passenger.

Had a great time up there with everybody. Can't wait for the next event... which I guess is RTTC2? Let's do this! ;)
