im working on my 70 duster today. found a rear u-joint that had a LOT of play in it. it was rocking a bit in the yoke on the rear axle. put the correct u-joint in it, and the caps are turning inside the holes on the driveshaft. if i rememebr right, they arent supposed to do that. Am i correct? is there any simple fix?

If so some ujoints use different size caps for yoke and drive shaft . or you got wrong ujoint . It should be a press fit .

http://www.stocktonwheel.com/about_us.htm We used them years ago they widen and install the center in wheel size within reason . Love the mopars relocate the springs inboard and a 12 inch wide tire goes right in .

you have the wrong u joint :(
your drive shaft uses the large u joint and your rear end is the small ujoint.
you need a COMBINATION U JOINT TO CONNECT A 7260 MOPAR STYLE DRIVESHAFT YOKE TO A SPICER DANA 1330 STYLE If it's 1 1/16", then it's a 1330, but if it's 1 1/8" then it's a 7290.
I think these are the right part numbers :)
