From the Blue '79 Trans Am that was all over the place........... Thanks so much for an EXCELLENT Event!

While this was not my first autocross, it was my first time participating with you ProTouring guys. I must say, I loved it. No stinkin' classes or mods to worry about. Just get out there and run. Cool. Great fun. Thanks again to all those that worked so hard to organize and run this event. GREAT JOB!

To you course workers..... I apologize for my poor performance. I hope my loosey-goosey 'bird amused you enough that you didn't curse me too bad as you were running after my cones.

Looking forward for RTTH........

Great weekend Guys. This year the rain was on Friday, which made for a fun cruise since my wiper motor decided to quit and no one seems to have a replacement. But, rainX is my friend and it all worked out. Great cruise destination. I have been wanting to see the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame since I am a Georgia boy and know several people that poured heart soul and money to get that museum off the ground. Then the ride up to and the view at the state park was great. Two days of autocrossing, what could top that???? The course was a bit tight for a SHIP, but thats what I get for building a boat...haha
Eric, I was happy to let you drive my car. I could tell all weekend you were a much better driver than I am and you proved that on the first lap. You turned a better time in the charger than I had turned all day. It is a blast to drive, and I think it suprises most that drive it. Fact is, it is only about 8 inches longer wheelbase wise than a camaro, but that overhang on both ends makes it look so big. However, it feels smaller when you are sawing the wheel, fun stuff.
Thanks again David, Jeff,Steve, sponsors, and everyone that pitched in to make the weekend work so well. No big deal on the cones and lights, I was coming anyway, so all I did was throw them in the truck. It is nice to have the cones sitting in the corner at the shop. We can always just grab them and have ourselves an event...haha

I am calling out a member here, username Cuzidid (Brad). Man, what a sweet camaro, and I for one have never even heard of it until this weekend. You have been holding out on us, but we expect now to hear from you and about the car. Good luck, btw with it at Columbus Goodguys next weekend. It will show just fine, and besides, we all know now it is more than a damn trailer queen.

Wes, thanks for letting me drive your Formula. That car is not far away from being a real contender. Trust me, all new cars have small issues when you actually get out and drive them like we built them to be driven. It is where the rubber mets the road, and now you know what and where to work to make fast improvements. Get a set of track wheels and tires first, and the rest will be minor. Taking the clicks out of the shock adjustment really helped, I just wish I would have had time to make some more minor changes and laps. OH, BTW, lower that damn drivers seat, I could hardly get in. I did not need a seat belt, my head was wedged in the headliner...haha

John, it was fun to drive the camaro, but it really makes me want my own even more.....

Finchy, sorry you had to leave Saturday, but we will see you in a couple weeks for our next road trip up to Mark's event.

Chad, great car, but, like Wes, you gotta get the bugs out. Overall pretty impressive for a car with 16 miles on it prior to the event.

Jim and Susan, as always, great to see old friends and cut up. See you at RTTHs soon.

Terry, great to see you and your wife again. Next time though, I want to see that camaro, even the new one, on the track, you gotta catch this bug...haha

Adam, thanks for coming out, and beating on that S10 all weekend. It got pretty fast as the weekend went along, great to see it doing what you built it to do.

Amir, rock on guy. I love the fact you were beating on the car, even if you are not quite through with it. Events like this always seem to get people fired up to finish their cars and now that you have actually been out there and beat on it, I know you will push on now to finish it.

Just a great weekend guys, it is hard to capture it all in a few words. One thing I noticed though, more and more cars are showing up at these events and that is great, it shows the hobby is growing and I am proud to be on the ground level.

I really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and lack of rules, etc. I took note, and look for RTTHs to be similar. It seems that the more rules we have, the less fun it is. Thanks for reminding me of that Jeff.

We have been making huge strides with the charger and the setup. This weekend proved something several have been telling me, I needed more front swaybar. A bigger one added this week has cured my tire wear issues. This coming week, we will add a small rear bar to correct the new push we have, and we should be about done with the car.........right, I wish.....haha

Bill that is the camaro that busted a rear brake line last year at the auto x at RTTH's. My brother and I jumped in and helped him get back up and running. Brad and his wife are super nice people.

I know that hes not on the forums much, but when i talk to him next i will let him know what you posted.

Im glad to see adam, is getting faster and faster. That truck has alot of good suspension parts, that can work well together.

That car is a beast now, very well sorted and he is a good driver also. He doesn't have to apologize to anyone about anything on that car, period. I do remember it from RTTHS, but RTTHs is usually a blur to me as far as seeing and really paying close attention to the cars because I am usually pretty busy. The valance detail is what I remember from last year. I told him one small thing I noticed about his driving style and where I thought he could pick up a little time. The next pass he shaved a full second off his time. Maybe I should have not mentioned it till after the competition, he won.....haha

Okay well, north Georgia is downright inspirational. The people, the town, the cars, and the attitude. These are all clear reminders of what America should be. It's like a scene from Back to the Future. Cartersville, GA is lined with traditional storefronts, but no "For Rent" signs or big name franchises in sight. I'm blown away by the fact that the railroad runs right through town. Woowoo!

That positive attitude found its way into the Peach State Musclecar Challenge. David Sloan and Jeff Tate organized a fun, casual, affordable event with an emphasis on seat time and face time.
The usual 8 to 10 vendor cars did not attend, yet the Peach State MuscleCar Challenge rounded up 39 cars. Some basic math will tell you that the Peach State Musclecar Challenge has just as many, if not more, enthusiast cars than some highly publicized events.
The venue has perfect asphalt for autocross and food at the on site cafe was exceptional. If you are a first timer at autocross, this is the event for you.
Big thanks to everyone who helped out with timing and scoring and big thanks to Bill Howell for lending me his C6 vette so that I could get in some laps on Sunday.

Twist Machine gave away more than $500 in ProStyle™*billet parts on Sunday, so Mary and I want to congratulate the winners:
-Chris German, Black 69 Camaro: Cowl Induction Trim Plate Winner
-AdamMoore, Silver S-10 Pickup: Gauge Bezel Set Winner
-John Henry Silver 81 Z28: 2nd Gen Fender Brace Set Winner
-Brad Grainger Atomic Orange 67 Camaro: 1st Gen Fender Brace Set Winner.

The PSMC can easily accommodate more cars next year, so come on out!
Thanks all

Taking the clicks out of the shock adjustment really helped, I just wish I would have had time to make some more minor changes and laps. OH, BTW, lower that damn drivers seat, I could hardly get in. I did not need a seat belt, my head was wedged in the headliner...haha

I'm the one who needs to be thanking you and Steve for getting me pointed in the right direction--My car is already better than it's ever been in the 10 years I've had it in my hands, and now I have a much better idea of what each changed setting does to the performance of the car. All the reading in the world wasn't as valuable as having you two take the wheel. I owe you guys each a beer at RTTHs!

And I'll work on the seat tracks, I promise!

Amir, rock on guy. I love the fact you were beating on the car, even if you are not quite through with it. Events like this always seem to get people fired up to finish their cars and now that you have actually been out there and beat on it, I know you will push on now to finish it.

Hell yea Bill, glad to have finally run with you guys.. I wanted to run summore but during my last runs i snapped my powersteering belt, brakes were shot and fried the transmission!

thats why i couldnt reverse when i stopped on my last couple runs..

youre right.. i had a few ideas i wanted to get done with the car and now i know what i need to do.. and beating the shizit outta the car i learned which direction to go.

but moreover.. i got to learn driving skills.. that was a main thing.

Is Stormie a different color now? I thought it was more of a metallic silver, now it looks like a little darker satin color. Is that just the picture? Looks great either way.

HA,HA!

I got an idea. I can't win RTTHs for obvious reasons, but you can drive it, you are a better driver anyway. Maybe you can give ole Finchy a run for his money.......

I had a great time too even though my car couldn't get around the cones like I wanted. I found a serious weakness in my Steeroids kit. The rack is great for the open road but the turning radius is alot bigger than with the box and I found I had to back up and almost do a three pointer to get around some of the corners! I'll try spinning the rears more next time to kick the tail out. I just need more practice...
I still had fun and I want to thank Bill, David, Jeff the sponsers and everybody else for making this a great, fun weekend!
P.S-Did anybody get any shots of my car on the course? I'd like to have one, let me know.

A big thanks to Jeff, Bill, David, Red Top Auctions, sponsors, workers, and friends of the pro-touring community for turning out yet another great event this year. Saturday's autocross was a blast. That format worked out great and I think everyone enjoyed running it that way. Most of the pictures I went through tonight show grins on just about every driver and passenger. That pretty much sums up the event. A great time had by all. I know Adam and others have posted up some nice shots already of the cars so I will try not to repeat with the photos I have. It's been since last year since I posted pictures so hopefully this doesn't turn tragic. :fingersx:

That was the last run we made. Rear was locked, front brakes were locked, and we should have parked it. But I promised Jerry could drive. So he went and had a blast all while making a huge mess and tons of work for the volunteers. I wish someone would have counted the cones he collected. Had to be 30 plus. I was laughing like crazy in the passenger seat. I think he thought he was in a drift course.
