What do think will fit/look better the 3 3/8" or the 5" tach and speedo in a 69 Camaro dash?

I've seen it done a hundred times but can't picture it in my head.

Thanks Guys

I used the 5" ones in mine. I had to cut some of the instrument cluster. With the 3-3/8" ones you probably won't have to. With the 5" I also lost the dummy lights below the factory gauges.

I went with the 3-3/8' gauges because I wanted to keep the idiot and turn signal lights. It was a very time consuming effort but I have alot of patience. I used a dremel tool to cut the palstic. Since the original holes are slighlty larger than the autometer gauges I had to make an aluminum piece the same pattern as the original gauges and cut a circle in the middle to use to keep the gauges from falling out the back. Then the gauges were hitting the plastic lens that holds the idiot and turn signal lights so i carefully cut out the clear lens and it fit perfect.

Interestingly, if you're brave enough to unbend the rear of the bezel to remove an autometer 5" guage completely from it's housing, those autometer face plates and internals will just fit within the stock 69 Dash. I ran mine this way for a while and retained the stock bezels and idiot lights. It looked great!

I had to trim the backside slightly to accomodate the mechanics of the guages, but not enough to prevent from remounting the stock guages if you wanted.

Downside was, the tach died one day. Perhaps something shorted on the exposed circuit board... So I went back to the stockers for now.

If I still had 69 interior I would have installed 5" :) I would have installed 10" if they had them. Ok mabey not. :lmao:
