Here's why--a buddy of mine has a brand new fabricated 9 inch housing with brace and all--work of art---looks better than what is under my race car---it's 54 in ---for the life of me I can't remember what a stocker is---he paid like 1200 for the housing--fire sale--400 bucks---like i've said--I never get exactly what I want, it's always whatever the best deal is.

Many thanks for whomever can tell me----

Doug

Overall is 60" axle flange to axle flange. housing width VS overall width depends on axle offset.

GM axles have a close to 2.75. Ford axle offsets are 2.36 to 2.5.

Sounds like your friends rear will make a 59" rear which would be cool under a Camaro, give a little deeper wheel lip then the stock rear

Thanks Frank---I measured out the housing tonight and it actually measured 54.75 from the front or face of the flanges. I figure if I can get 2.5 on the axles, I'll be within .25 overall and will split the difference on each side---don't even think I will have to rehoop the wheels---thanks again man.
