Here is the deal. I have a small block Chevy and just installed some new stainless headers from Dougs. They route differently than the old headers and now the clearance between the end of the plugs and headers has become an issue. The header tubes run right over the top of the 90 degree plug caps. Is there a special shorty spark plug, or some trick I could be missing?

Accel makes shorty plugs.

Do you have angle or straight plug heads. Some headers are not compatible with angle plug heads.

Accel shorties are ****ty if you are looking for multiple heat ranges....they only offer one heat range. I built a 600+ hp 434 with Titan (NX Nitrous) plate system with jetting up to a 750 shot and I had a HUGE issue with the Stahl headers for the Brodix 11X heads I put on it. I have part numbers for three different NGK shorty style plugs to run if you are interested...I'll have to dig up the customer file I have on the car I built, let me know. These plugs were for extended reach though-they make them in various heat ranges for standard SBC combustion chambers too however. -Jabin

Looking for a shorty plug from NGK if they are out there. I have the same issue with burning boots. I need a cold plug im running the BKR7e plug right now

Accel makes a short plug and if the boot is really close to the header you might have to run their ceramic boots with the Jacobs' 8.5mm silicone plug wires, the ceramic boots can sit right on the header without burning and creating misfires
