I have a 70 Nova with an inline 6(230ci) that i want to lower in the front. What springs can anyone recommend, if i use smallblock lowering springs how far off will it be? It sits lower than factory because of the aged springs but i want to lower the front to match the aged leaf springs that made the rear lower. This car will only be a cruising car, not an autocross car. Thanks. Brandon

You could always cut some off the stock springs. I would start with 1/2 of a coil and see where it sits.

The small block springs should work as well, the weight difference between the SB and 6 is very small. The only thing is how drop you will get, not knowing how much your springs have sagged from original ride height.

You're looking at a 100+ pound weight difference between the Chevy small-block and the 230 six.

An all-iron V8 is right around 550 pounds, the six weighs close to 440.

Chances are pretty good that new small-block lowering springs will raise the car a bit, you'll probably have to trim them to get the ride height you're looking for.

You could try some circle track springs with adjustable spacers. I have no idea what spring rate though maybe in the 500-600 lb range? http://www.speedwaymotors.com/TRU-COIL-SPRING-5-Inch-X-9-1-2-Inch,163.html springs http://www.speedwaymotors.com/AFCO-Adjustable-Coil-Spring-Spacer,23948.html?parentDisplayId=3389 shims
