Does anyone know how far you can de-arch mono leafs.
The arch on mine is 8 inches high.
Is it possible to lower the car 4 inches by de-arching the leafs 4 inches?
what would be the max? 4, 5 or maybe 6 inches?

it's not that simple, you are forgetting that the spring compresses when it's on the car, what is the arch when it's on the car?
Also you need more rate to avoid bottoming out, you need to get the right spring for the job

I am running airride. Leafs are only to keep the rear end in place.
No money for a 4-link yet.....

Okay, I did it.
4 inches. The stance is very nice.

Now look at your spring shackles and check out the angle of them. Is the spring eye hitting the frame???
I just pulled stock leaf springs off a Camaro that were hitting, the springs were sagged just a little. De-arching is going to make the leaf too long as it flattens out.

David, that was also my concern when I had the leafs de-arched.
But in reality nothing hits the frame. I checked it a couple of times but it totally clears the frame and inner end of the car.

Made some brackets and a bar to mount the shockwaves. They are at the powdercoater now.

Not to but in, if you plan on using the car for driving or hard driving, and you find the shackles hitting, you may want to look into leaf spring sliders. Youll need to do a little fab work but they should help out your situation greatly. Just my .02
