I was at the Goodguys show in Del Mar last spring.. that auto cross was so cool. Can a Cobra participate (BB kit car)?
Is there a link or something to a site where I can get the skinny on these events?

Damn True

Are you looking to participate in a local SCCA event or one of the Goodguys events? If the former you can simply pull up your local SCCA regional website and it will pretty easily lead you to an auto-x schedule. There are tons of smaller orgs/clubs that hold auto-x as well but sometimes they are marque specific. Google the name of your nearest major city and autocross (Los Angeles AND autocross) and you should find club events pretty easily.

Yes, such a car can compete in a goodguys autocross. Anyone who signs up for the show is free to compete. Of course, you have to pass tech, but since the speeds are kept below 35 mph, it is not very strict and helmets are not at all required.

Some goodguys shows have body style year limitations. The Del Mar event you went to was for '72 and older American powered cars whereas the Costa Mesa event in February was for any American powered car (meaning so long as it has an American engine, it's in!) Just go to the goodguys site, become a member, and sign up for whatever show/autocross you want to attend.
