there will be a live broadcast on hotrod.com today. Very strong rumor that it will be broadcast from Newton today. My dad received a request for as many cars from his club as they could get to the track for the announcement and a group shot.

Finally, us west coasters get a little love! About time!

I'm not sure I consider a starting point in Iowa any love for the west coast folks. That's still roughly 1500 miles from the LA area, and 1800+ miles back from Mobile, AL.

haha, sorry Steve, it totally went over my head.

I totally agree, and would bet that a rival magazine or website could fill the void created by Hot Rod's aversion to the west coast. Nothing wrong with starting small either.

He did mention in the live feed that "this will allow us to head west in the future" (or something along those lines.

TimUnless you drove from Cali, drove the whole tour and returned  Of course I cheated.. I did it in my TBSS.

Lincoln was a good time. Tony will never forget the local law enforcement :lmao:

I'll never forget my western themed hotel room :bananna2:

This is why a sarcasm font is need to stop the confusion.

There was a time when the Power Tour started from the west coast. Oh well I guess we aren't worthy.

I wish 2 things, you get what your asking for (Going West) and that they
would have started it where it ended. (Us TN folks were not very happy)

Did my first Power Tour this year. Unfortunately, I had to do it in my Plan B car as the Richmond 6 speed in my '77 Camaro conked out on me about 3 1/2 hours from home. My neighbor and his wife rescued me and brought us the Plan B car on their trailer.

We had a good time on the tour and did the Long Haul. It was really hot and humid the last four days but, overall, it was great.

I started a blog to record our daily activities on the tour. If you are interested, it can be seen at: http://jerryforthofer.wordpress.com/

It was not one of your cleaner installations. However, the guy has raced the car for years and was very enthusiastic about his car.
