Come one come all! Saturday July 25th 2009 Pro-Touring.com will gather at the Petersen Automotive Museum (http://www.petersen.org/) in Los Angeles California for a guided tour and lunch at the soon to open Johnny Rockets on site.

We need at least 10 people to be eligible for the "Car Club Tour" pricing and free parking for all Pro-Touring type cars. Sorry, your stock Ford Fiesta will cost you $8.00 to park.

Also, if we get enough cool cars there is a chance for a magazine photo shoot so make plans now. The gathering will happen rain or shine so keep your fingers crossed.

Please reply to this post and let me know how many people will be in your group, how many cars and what they are. If possible please post a picture to help draw more people and possibly a magazine shoot.

Date: Saturday July 25th
Time:10am
Lunch:12:30 <--- Cost is not included. You are on your own but I will try to reserve an area for our group.
Cost: Cash must be paid to me the morning of. (They will only accept one lump payment from one person representing the group)

Adult (19 and up): $6.00
Seniors (62 and up): $4:00
Students (13 – 18 or students w/ID): $4.00
Children (5 – 12): $2.00
Children (under 5): $ free

The two hour guided tour starts at 10am and I ask that everyone show up around 9am so we can gather the cars for parking, collect money and get a head count.

Click here for the address and directions (http://maps.google.com/maps?oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=Petersen+Automotive+Museum&near=Thousand+Oaks,+CA&fb=1&split=1&gl=us&view=text&latlng=9821837492721619729&pcsi=9821837492721619729,1&ei=aXlPSpmfNofYsgP1vdGqDQ&sa=X&oi=local_result&ct=result&resnum=3)

Larry,
I'm pretty sure our whole crew can make it.. which would be me, and a 67 Nova, Johnny T., and his 67 Tempest, and Justin Butler with his 69 Camaro.

However, I'll let them RSVP for themselves. For now, count me in with +2 (wife and business partner) and a 67 Nova.

Larry, count me in. My ride is current in the build phase so the '69 won't be in the lot and the E55 probably won't qualify as a pro-touring car, but I'll see you guys there!

Cost $8.00 to park my stock Ford Fiesta, common if I ever owned one of those please shoot me. I do own a few Fords, but that's definetly not one of them. The Peterson Museum would be nice, but that's about 3300 miles one way. Then there would be a choice, which one to take 1967 Competition Proven 427 FAIRLANE GT, 1989 Mustang LX Notchback 306 cu.in. 9 second street legal car no. 1996 Mustang SVT Cobra Convertible w/55000 original miles no. 2001 F-150 SVT Lightning no. 2004 Screaming Yellow 40th Anniversary MACH1 no. 2004 Mustang Screaming Yellow SVT Cobra no. Cost too much, when your disabled and can't take the drive. If you look at the last time, I visited this web-site you'll see it was ( 09-21-2008 ). It's just too much for me, and too far to drive. I appreciate the invite, but at this time no thanks, Mike. SCT Tuner.

I'd like to meet up with you guys and attend the Petersen, but don't know which Jack in the Box on Kanan Dume Rd. you all plan to converge upon. Please let me know - -
Also, it might be more sensible for me to just go to the Petersen since I'm just a couple miles away in West L.A. ... I don't know if either of my cars ('62 vette & '65 mustang) qualify as pro-touring cars but I'll be willing to pay for parking.

Group Tours
Group tours are available to any group of 10 or more, such as adult groups, special interest groups, senior groups, summer camps, scouts and college groups.
All group tours are 2 hours in duration with your choice of:

Guided Tour: 1-hour tour led by docents. Afterwards, one additional hour for self-exploration.
Self-guided Tour: 2-hour visit without docent guide.
Group Size

Guided Tour: a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 70 per slot.
Self-guided Tour: a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 90 per slot.

Larry Callahan
07-23-2009, 07:23 AM
We are now maxed out for our guided tour. It looks like the total is 80 people and 23 cars. That is a bit over the 70 but I'm sure some people won't make it and so far they didn't tell me not to exceed 70. I do know they are splitting us into at least 3 groups.

I will update the guest list above tonight but for now consider the registrations full.

Mike, I believe he was running a Magnacharger setup. Check out: http://www.magnusonproducts.com/mp122Carb5thgen.htm
I didn't catch what carb he was running. Magnacharger also has a new blower (MP 1900 TVS) that has closely design to the supercharger on the LS-9, with 4 lobe, high helixed rotors. Their busness is located in Ventura, so their not too far from you.

What a fun day. I got to meet of with a bunch of guys at Jack in the Box in the morning, cruise to the Petersen Automotive Museum and spend a few hours there with 60+ members of the site. After that I went home cleaned up and headed out to the first ever local cruise in at Fundruckers in Thousand Oaks.

It was a great day and there were no problems with MotiV8r despite the high ambient temps, bumper to bumper traffic on the 101 and the condition of Wilshire Blvd. Oh! Funny thing on my way home. I decided to try a different route. To get to the 101 I had to cross Hollywood Blvd mid day. I was first in line at the cross walk and found myself surrounded by 30-40 tourists snapping pictures like crazy before the light changed. It was almost scary. LOL!

Anyway, I had a great time yesterday and I want to thank everyone that came out and everyone at the Petersen for setting this up and especially Chuck for the last minute help and the spread sheets you made and for parking all the cars. Thanks again Chuck!!!!

I also need to thank Steven Rupp who took my camera and shot some pics while I was running around. Thanks again and sorry I didn't have a flash on my camera. I tried to take a few in the dark building and well, it was pretty pointless. Thanks again!

I do need to supply some good pictures to a magazine that at the last minute could not make it due to an emergency so, if you have a couple or a bunch of great pictures please e-mail them to me so they can put something in the magazine.

Thanks again everyone and maybe we can make this a once a year deal?

I thought I would try taking the 10 freeway to PCH and take the coast home. NOT! As soon as I hit 3rd & 4th street offramp (last offramp before PHC) it completly stopped. Cut traffic and drove the streets of Santa Monica back to the 405. Your route sounded like more fun!

How was Fuddrucker? Is it going to continue?

Damn how I wanted to jump in the Mach 5 like Speed Racer! LOL

Fuddruckers was good. They paid the $600 to get the 2mil liability insurance policy and I think they were happy. The restaurant was packed all night. I know the organizer of the event and I will call him in a few days to see if it will continue. I hope it does but, watch out for the idiots. I almost left due to the qty of people leaning on my car. Very frustrating. Mostly stupid teenagers. I was SO pissed at one group of them I almost went to go get help to drag them out.

A few cell phone pics I took while I was there.

This was pointed out to me. It's in the parking structure at the Petersen.

Yeah right! LOL

Once again it was a pleasure meeting more of the members of pro-touring.com since the last time I enjoyed driving and hanging out at the Streets of Willow with some of you. Awesome cars and good people !!

I too tried taking 405S to take I10 to PCH. Not. Immediately got back off and took Sepulveda Pass.

One thing I forgot to talk to Ron about was when we stopped at the stoplight at Wilshire and Rodeo Dr. There is a cafe on the corner where first one lady spotted Ron's car, then all three stood up with cameras in hand. The were practically tripping over each other to get a snapshot!

Yeah, it's a Magnuson. It uses the stock LS1 ECM. No carburettor.

Thanks Larry for putting this on. It was a good time. Now if Rupp would just stop doing burnouts in the parking structure.....

That little "hello kitty" chirp? Heck... it was rather lame. lol

The SS is so quiet.. needs an exhaust.

Yes.

I need to align the front end! That's supposed to be Ro-DAYo Drive, not Ro-DEEo Ride!
