Well , so far so good.
We had a small , but quality turn-out at David's place for dinner.
We'll get some pictures up soon.

About 20 really nice cars came in.
Some were late , from out of state.
You guys have got to see Ron Schartz's Mustang !
It's wicked !

There's a really nice 'Cuda that came in from Missouri !

Of couse , we had Paytons' Camaro , Andrew's GTO , Wayne's Chevelle , and many other really great cars show up.

More cars / members will be coming in Saturday , and even more for Sunday's Autocross.
If anyone is on the fence about coming , then come on out !
We're getting a pretty good turn-out for the first year of having an event.

I had a good time meeting everyone, good to put a face to the names.

and boy... Rons Mustang is goddamn blazin!

oh and another thing..

The party had more country accents than the Grand ol Opry.. David's TWANG came out harder than normal... boy.... i was shocked!

I truly hate not being there. I'm at a point on a customers Chevelle that I could not stop for the weekend. Has to be at the paint shop on Monday and it will take all weekend to get it ready.
David, I appreciate your efforts in putting it together and with any luck I will make the next one.

I had a great time last night. It was nice to finally meet some of the people from the board. I also wanted to give a big thank you to David and Jeff for putting this thing together.

I am glad that I didnt leave early because I would have missed out on that sweet 72 Cuda that rolled in from Missouri. Hopefully I can see it run the autocross tomorrow. Rain, Rain, go away!

I want to publicly thank David and Tammy for hosting all of us at his place Friday night. We enjoyed the food, cars, and meeting all the people.

" David's TWANG came out harder than normal... boy.... i was shocked! "

Dang! Dinner and a show. I guess me & Cole left too early.

Great time guys. The Canton Cruise In was decent last night even with the threat of rain. Great to see everyone again. Man, I am jonesing on the Cuda, makes me really want to finish my Charger. That thing was bad and just blew everyone away at the autocross today. Too bad it rained before everyone got all their runs in, but it was still a blast! Thanks again David, Tammy, Jeff and everyone else that put on such a great event. Count me in for next year!

Guys, I have some video's that I took of the autocross (I was the fat bald guy near the start line). The video is grainy and not terribly big, but I'll post them to youtube tomorrow. Also, unfortunately the runs of the first group were corrupted on my camera card, so I don't have the vids from those runs (stinkin camera card is going in the trash!). I'll post up links though once I get them uploaded. Makes me want to finish my 383 LT4 twin turbo Grand Wagoneer and race it :)

Now THAT was a fun weekend. Mother Nature tried her best but I still think you guys ended up winning. Finally meeting you guys and putting faces with names was great. And watching 10-15 cars at once drying an autocross track was priceless. I think you guys need to check the times on that four door Mercedes. She had some good lap times and was grinning the entire way.

I know Hector has posted some great pictures already so I will try to post a few more from some different angles. Thanks again to everyone who made this all possible. And THANK YOU to Jeff for the last minute ride-along around the cones.

Thats wasn't the "im soiling myself" look. That was the "I hope the door latch holds and I don't go flying out" look:help!: Notice my arm squeezing that door shut as my life depended on it. Glen said, "Don't worry, it has never opened on its own. I don't think it will. Just don't lean on it." Easier said than done my friend.

Unfortunately I didn't get to make it out on Friday, or to the drag strip on Sat, but I did get to the show in Canton at the very end of the night. I met Jim & Jeff, and they convinced me to go the autocross.

I showed up without a car of my own, but was able to mooch a ride in Glen's Cobra. It was during the spirited track drying laps. Wicked ride! If only my stupid a$$ wouldn't have been so excited about the ride only to brainlessly set the back of my leg straight onto the exhaust while exiting the car. OUCH!:hand: Who needs skin anyways.

It was great to meet everyone and to see these rides in person. I would highly recommend to everyone, even without a car of their own, to make it out to the next event. It was a great time.

Thank you to David Sloan, Jeff Tate, and all the others that helped to put on this event. This is exactly the kind of weekend that I needed after finishing my spring semester.

The drag strip action was very frustrating. I think when they prepped the track they must have grabbed the WD40 spray bottle instead of the VHT. The track hooked worse than the street! I managed to slide my way to a 8.44 @ 94MPH with a 2.1 60' time. On an 1/8 mile track it is all about the launch. Many cars had the potential to beat my time, but it didn't happen. Ron hot lapped his lightweight Mustang and got a 8.5x pass. Payton's yellow 69 Camaro trapped over 100 mph! That is hauling a$$.

On the autocross we all managed to get in 4 laps before the rain stopped the fun. As I recall my last 3 laps were all in the 30.0x second range. Mark's ran the best lap of the day with a 27.8x lap. That car is very cool with its modern driveline, extensive body mods, and IRS from a Nissan 350Z. Well done!

I hope this trend of smaller regional events catches on. I would love to see smaller gatherings being organized all around the country. Groups of fewer than 20 cars are relatively easy to manage and accommodate.

Check the license plate. It's an S10! I gotta get me a new grille insert REAL SOON!

I am also with Andrew in saying that we need to have more of these - even if it is just 15+ cars! I had an awesome time and as always seeing all those sweet rides got the wheels turning in my brain for more mods.

Thanks David, Tammy, Bill, Jeff, etc... You guys put on an awesome event and I'm happy to have participated. And I'm pretty excited the oil pressure stayed above zero and got me home... Let's do it again real soon!

First of all I want to thank everyone associated with putting this together. The hospitality shown by David and his family was greatly appreciated. The work that Jeff and his wife put in,along with Bill and his crew,I'm sure I'm forgetting someone, but Thanks so much.

That was the most fun I had in along time.Never autocrossed before, didn't know what the hell I was doing, but man was that fun. Can't wait to do that again.

My car was not really test, been down the road 2 blocks and was put on the trailer headed for Georgia. All the junk parts held up pretty well, accept the Muncie.Lost 2nd gear drag day on its first past, kept jamming in 2nd every pass after that.I must have made 25 passes trying to figure it out.Was having so much fun I didn't care.

Here is a link to the pics I took http://57hemicuda.smugmug.com/gallery/8255119_KWTij#540044201_gAgqU

I was trying to think of something witty to say, to rag on poor Payton about his hood, but didn't have the heart. Ron

I got a good story about Ron S an the Mustang.
They pulled in to the shop parking lot Fri. before lunch, Pulled the mustang off the trailer an Ron holds up a pair of wires pulls them apart an the car goes dead.
We all got a good chuckle an they went about wiring a key switch up. Did i tell you how much i like that car.
Thanks Ron for a good time!!
