Many of us build our cars to drive. Some like to drive them hard. Many upgrade the engine, brakes and suspension, but don't think about the seat belts. A 35-40 year old lap belt just won't do the trick during spirited driving, much less if you have a wreck. I had been wanting new belts in my 69 Camaro for a while. I saw that Morris Classic Concepts (http://www.morrisclassicconcepts.com/) was a sponsor on Pro-Touring.com, so I checked their website. I liked what I saw, but something else always got in the way. I knew the Year One Experience was coming up, and they required shoulder belts to do laps at Road Atlanta. I bit the bullet and ordered a set.

When the box arrived from Morris Classic Concepts (http://www.morrisclassicconcepts.com/) (MCC), the contents were well packed, not just thrown in the box. All items were individually wrapped to reduce the chance of damage during shipping. Everything was included; The 3 point, retractable, main belt, the secondary belt with OEM style buckle, all necessary hardware, and even instructions with diagrams (but who needs those).
When I say installation is easy....the hardest part was finding the tools I needed to do the job! I need to organize my toolbox! It was a simple remove and replace type of job. The hardware supplied by MCC actually feels better than the bolts that were on the car.
Once I had the sockets I needed, I removed the old bolts and the old belts, replacing them with the supplied button head bolts. There are only eight bolts, so it's pretty self explanatory. Read the instructions on how to keep the main belt from getting tangled, and that's it. Doesn't get much easier than that!

The MCC 3 point retractable seat belts look like they came from the factory. Only updated. The belts feel good and work great. Back seat egress is still as good as it ever was on a 69 Camaro! I have been on Road Atlanta, auto crossed, and driven on the street with these seat belts and never once found them to be uncomfortable. I'm 5'8" and they fit me fine. LittleBit is 5'2" and they fit her well, too!

Thanks MCC (http://www.morrisclassicconcepts.com/), for having a well designed and much needed product to enhance the safety and comfort of these older cars.

Thanks for the review. I just got my car and was thinking about doing this. It's just moved up to first on my list (well, after I figure out where the vibration in the drivetrain is coming from).

Thanks for the review as well. Been considering new belts when I get my car on the road.

Now I just wish someone made a set like these for the rear seat *hint* *hint*

They look purple in the photos as compared to your black interior. How well to the match?

Thank You Very much for the review!
The seat belts are black. We have several colors. Our seat belts are car & year specific. We have lap belts to match the front ones. Also we will have the chrome metal push button very soon. Waiting on the supplier to ship to us. Thank You, Billy

Billy, I haven't met you but I wanted to say thanks. Love the belts!

In natural light they are as black as the rest of the interior. I guess the flash made them appear lighter?

I have the Morris belts too. Nice safety addition to these older cars. Although theres plenty of the competition/race style harnesses to chose from, I chose these mainly because they go better with my non-racy style interior. Darlene and me like these belts too.

Hey Billy, you ought to talk to Jim about having LittleBit model those belts!

They do look like nice belts. In my previous comment I was just wondering if anyone has found any matching 3 points for the rear?

I think Morris also has replacement rears, but I haven't seen 3 points.

I decided to get these belts after Bad Penny was smashed. Started thinking what if that was me, let alone my wife.
Figured it was WELL worth the cost.
And they are!
They work great, look great. I even got matching lap belts for the rear.
Billy and his wife (think that's who answered the phone and took the order) Are very friendly and knowledgable.

Could not be happier!
thanks again Billy:bananna2:

Thanks Ya'll. Our main intent is safety and to make parts that fit, and are comfortable to wear. Good to hear compliments makes it easier
to get things done and satisfied customers are excellent advertising.
Steve, I got my sheetmetal aligned,I appreciate you going to help me.
I had the guy that painted for me to help me. Had to cut 1/8" off of inside lip at the top of the fender. Lines look better probably not as good as your Camaro but I'm okay.
Thank You, Billy

After RTTHIV I can say that these seatbelts are must-haves. I drove the car more in that weekend than I had at one time since the seatbelt install. They perform great and felt comfortable even after extended use.
As an added bonus, I got to meet Billy Morris and his wife and daughter at RTTHIV. What great people! And what a nice Z28!

I may have to get some of those driving/marker lights! :twothumbs

i just recdieved these belts as a gift and am going to be installing them in my 67 camaro. The only problem I see reight now is that the car never had belts to begin with(they were removed when i bought it). The holes for the mounts are there in the floorpan along the trans tunnel and the rocker, but how do I find the hole in the headliner/sailpanel part? They seem and feel like a real nice product and can't wait to install them!

Nevermind, was able to feel around and find the holes through the headliner. The holes for the 67 are towards the front of the car, in front of the clothes hanger, right about where the door glass and the quarter glass meet.
Installation was just like Jim said, very easy, less than an hour. They fit nice and feel good. Going out for a spin now!

Good question. I need to know the same thing. I hope to use a set instead of the 5 point for daily driving.

I have a set of these belts in my '68 and have Arizen seats that I have yet to get installed. As soon as I get them in, I will let you know how the belts look and function with them.

Well last night I finally got to install my seatbelts in the 69 Camaro.
They went in great and they fit fantastic and feel even better when they are on..

Now on to some other fitment news..

I also installed my ARIZEN seats.. They fit snug with the belts but they do fit. Just needed to tweak the mounting bracket for the retractor a little bit and it is good to go. Door panels go on today but I dont think there will be any clearence issues..

The ARIZEN seats and the Morris Belts are both great products and super comfortable..

Definatly would suggest you guys check them out..

Larry,

I just got done installing my Arizen seats in my '68 camaro and wanted to let you know that they fit perfectly with the Morris 3 point seat belts. There's not much room between the adjustment knob and the belt retractor but there's clearance enough to move the seat back and forth. Let me know if you have any more questions on this combo and I will be more than happy to answer them if I can.

Thanks for the post. I wanted to do the same thing. Morris belts with Arizen seats. Just curious how tall and what build do you have? I'm 6'2 230# wondering if they fit a guy like me well.

Thanks Skip!

Steelrat,
GM started putting the top mount in for 3 points in Feb 1966.
So yes your Nova has a top mount. Our seat belts are year and car specific.

Iceman,
What car do you have?
There isn't very much clearance between the seat and door panels on the Camaros.

i have a 67 camaro. While i know theres not a lot of clearance you would think they would clear instead of hitting the door panel though.

The reel takes up most of the area between the seat and door panel. We could mount the reels closer to the seat but then the seat wouldn't slide past the reel so the trade off is what it is. There isn't any smaller reel that we know of.
