it may be there and I may just not be able to see it from that shot, but a sheet of MDF between the compressor and the fatmat helps to isolate it from the body and decrease noise when it engages...just a thought

Nice job! I have mine going in on a piece of wood like Darren suggested, and was thinking of using Hushmat on there too. How does just the Fat Mat work for you? Pretty quiet?

It is not as quiet as I would like it so before the trunk is finished I will use a piece of MDF under it. Hope that knocks the noise down.
