I've been installing an XV level II setup into my convertible challenger. The hollow splined sway bar installs through the frame rails. the leaf springs are replaced with lower control arms, third center link, and a panhard bar setup and required coilovers. The problem I am having is the sway bar and third link want to take up the same spot on the car. You can just make out the swaybar in the pic. it is almost resting on the third link mount. Once I weld it all up there is less than 1/4 inch clearance, which won't be good once that rear starts moving up and down over the road.

I have only messed with four links. Typically you want the lower bars level and the uppers to have a slight downward tilt. I am used to car with bars long enough to measure out and get good instant center numbers. This setup is too short and I am a little concerned about placement of the upper third link to the body. How much angle is acceptable or wanted? I really need to lower the mount some more as it is too close to the sway bar. The swaybar will be harder to move now, plus I really can't and still maintain proper clearance with the arms and the floorpan. Should I just lower the third link mount to the body further to gain clearance? I am waiting to hear back from XV on their take from the pictures I sent. They seem to think the location is not that important.

They will be better suited to helping you since they designed and build the set up you are using.

Typically the upper link should be 6-8 degrees nose down at ride height. Lower links should be parallel with the ground. Is this picture with the suspension at desired ride height? Going by the picture the 2 closest points should not touch the sway bar shaft since it is straight rotates on its axis and the upper link mount is stationary. If its not touching now it should not touch during arm travel. With that picture I say it is not a problem.

Question: How is the pillow block mounted to the frame? If you needed to you can drill the frame hole larger and towards the front of the car. Weld in a tube (which is larger than the sway bar) then move the sway bar up and closer to the floor pan. Re mount the pillow blocks

The sway bar mounts in tubes welded in the frame with Delrin bushings. After talking to XV they want the swaybar more towards the rear and say the endlinks will be tilted at an angle on the axle tubes. Mainly to get more clearance, not so much by design. No specific measurements from them on where to place the third link mount, basically it just needs to go where it looks good, maybe a slight downward angle. probably more critical in a drag setup? I am going to end up ovalizing the swaybar mounts and welding in a reinforcement plate to cover the old holes and help reinforce the mounts. The oictures are taken with car at ride height. Thanks for the input.
