I wanted to give a little update on the Elky project. It has gone slower than expected due to having to put my customers ahead of my stuff. This is my 65 on a Schwartz chassis. The chassis is built. The body work done. Engine and trannie in place. LS2 with mods and T56. Now it is a matter of assembly. The wiring and plumbing are next. You are all welcome to come over to my place and help.lol

That looks killer. What is the details on the coil brackets/valve covers....any close up pictures? It looks like GMPP maybe with Katech modified brackets?

Thanks,
Tom

Tom, You are right on target. The coil brackets are Katech. The valve covers from GMPP. The only modification is drilling and tapping the valve covers for mounting screw locations. I will also be putting some -6 AN bungs in the VC for venting.

I have to admit, my jaw dropped a lil when I first saw the thumbnails. That is gonna be one sweeet car. You can't beat an LS-powered, tube-chassis car, tuckin' some big rollers. There aren't too many pro-touring Elkys...excellent work so far. Keep it up!

What do you have in mind for a paint scheme???

Chewy, Thanks for the comments. I have been all over the place on paint. The red is stolen from Ferrari. Rosso Fuoco. It was a beautiful car before I decided to redo it. I am leaning toward some two tone with a twist. With Black and some gunmetal gray accents. Trying to nail that down right now.
Like everyone else, I want something a little different, but different is getting hard to come by.

Jeff, I believe this one will do you proud. I will be in need of some advice soon on setting the chassis up, alignment and spring and shock setup. It's coming together.

Tom, This is not real close up but does it show what you want to see?

Mike

Thank You.
I have those covers and I think I may give those brackets a try. I like the look of the coils positioned like that.

It has L92 heads, L76 intake, Livernois stage II cam, Stainless Works headers. Should be a little better than 400HP. The heads were reworked to flow approx.350 cfm. intake.

Matty, It hasn't ran yet. It will be dynoed by a tuner once it is street worthy.

Thanks Wayne. This build will not have the bling factor that the Tempest has. It is being built all business.

This is a repost as I put my update in the wrong place. Hey it's been a long hot day. Coming along nice but slow. Expecting a finish date in July or Aug.
