Well it some advice from many on this site, but I finally got the G-Bar/Air Ride suspension in. I am using QA1 coilovers. For those that wonder how hard it is to do yourself....it's pretty much idiot proof. Once I asked a couple questions (https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42167) and got that issue out of the way, it took me less than 4 hours including taking pics. That was with a G-Bar/Air Ride ready housing though. Thanks again to those that gave the great advice. Here's some advice that I can give now to those who are going to install this kit. Many people mentioned using a hammer, I never had to. I'm in the process of building a rotisserie and had tall bottle jacks. I ended up using those jacks to push the main brace into place. I've included pics of that. The jacks only cost me $40 each so even if you install lots of these, it may be a good investment as it made is so easy. Oh...by the way Frank...the coilover shocks cleared the back brace. Again, thanks to Frank at Prodigy Customs for having the brackets welded onto the M9 housing, made my job way easier.

Holy crap does that look hot! I knoew that fabricated backbraced rear would look killer. That G bar ready rear end saves a lot of time.

The housing is a Moser M9 with back brace. I got it from Frank at http://www.prodigycustoms.com/ and http://www.gpsuperstore.com/ I hope to run a full exhaust, but I guess I will find out when I get to that point if I can.

It does look hot!!! And yes it made my life so much easier..it still took a little swearing, but not too much. I'm heading back out to the shop now to get the brakes put on and hopefully have this baby back on all fours by tomorrow.

In fairness to all the shops that install these kits for customers, I should clarify something. I don't want people to think 'hey it only took him 4 hours, why am I getting charged more'. It took me 4 hours to install just the housing and suspension parts. I haven't put in the axles, centre section, brakes, brake lines, etc. Also, I didn't have to remove anything as my car is just a shell right now and everything has already been removed. It would definately take alot longer than 4 hours to install everything and have it ready to drive. I was just trying to give some hope to those that do decide to take on the challenge themselves.

Really looks nice, hopefully I'll be doing the same soon! (working on G-Bar, new rear end and mini-tubs).

Mike,
We are finishing up the exhaust on our 68 today. I'll post some pics as soon as they are finished welding it up.

Good to see you are on this site too, Mike! Man, between building your ride and posting to sites, where do you find the time?

Mike,
I dug up some pics of the 2 1/2" exhaust on our 70 Nova routed OVER the axle. If you look close you'll also notice the new "AirCans" over the rear Shockwaves. They are basically just an aluminum jacket that slides over the Shockwave bellow. They should be available shortly....

The orange 68 Camaro is being fitted with 3" under the axle. I'll post pics asap.

Thanks Darren. Good to know I'm not going to have a huge headache when it comes time for exhaust. I just can't wait until I get this thing on the road to see how it rides. :drive: Look forward to more pics.

Honestly...some times I don't know when I get the time either. Oh wait, It's 8am, I've been up since 4 pm last night, worked a 13 hour shift, put a guy in jail for hopefully a long time, should be in bed but am on on here. :screwy: Thankfully there's a neat invention....cut and paste.
