1968 Firebird Road Race car. I talked with Global west, there Cat-5 system has 1" lowered springs, but he offered a reversed eye spring that would take it down 2", I'd have to cut a coil off the fronts they're sending as they are 1" drop as well.

Any opinions? Stay with 1" or go 2" Going with Koni shocks for now, the QA-1 are just to pricey.
I'm not looking for style and stance, just performance.

Is this a race car or dual purpose? Those cat 5 springs are real stiff, and you may not be happy with the ride for the street.

I have GW cat 2 rear leaf springs on my 2nd gen. pretty firm ride, but it is mainly a street car.

How much to lower will depend on your wheel/tire combo

Race only.

Tires are Hoosier Street TD 25.5/8.5x15 front and 26.5/9.5x15 rear on 8 and 8 1/2 x 15" wheels. Lotta rubber to squeeze under 2" lower. 1" probably won't be a problem.
