will new rear coils settle??

Will (and how much??) new rear coil springs settle much with time?? These are new variable rate coils in the rear of a Caprice. Thanks!

Typically, yes. How much they may settle is a function of the quality of the spring and application it's in. My experience has shown that coil springs settle significantly less than leafs in any given application. What brand "...new variable rate coils..." are you running?

The springs are a "stock" type spring that was spec'ed out as 1.5" shorter and a little stiffer than the originals. By variable rate I am just refering to them having the pigtail ends that are narrower then the body of the spring, just like the originals.

They'll probably settle about an inch within a year.
