I am doing a C5 IRS and would need the rear suspension specs or mounting points for the upper and lower control arms. I've done a search and came up with nothing. Any help wll be much appreciated.

BTW, As this looks to be some what of popular rear suspension mod maybe it would be nice to include the specs in a sticky note. Just a thought....

Thanks,
Dave

lol I don't think anyone here has done this mod to their cars. I would love too, but same as you are not sure about the geometry involved. So why buy the parts if I don't know where to weld them :(

Sorry my reply to this question in the pm you sent didn't answer your question. I was going to reply to the second message, but saw this thread so here goes. Hope this helps.

We built adjustable fixtures based off of the mounting points on the factory cradle and narrowed the track width for the desired wheel size, etc... Your best bet is to find a stock cradle when you buy your lower control arms and go from there. Good luck!

I do have the stock cradle but that doesn't tell me if the upper and lower control arms are mounted level.
So you just mounted yours to the frame level?

No, the lower arms aren't level in the challenger chassis we are working on. The stock cradle isn't level either. Look through the Challenger build again and look closely at the spindle location and the machined "pucks" that space them off of the upper and lower arms... The camber/caster is set and the chassis was built around the desired track width of this car. Not sure if this helped any...

Well,

Last night I did just that and I did notice the pucks attacted at the upper and lower ball joints. And it did start to make sense. My plans are to use your system and once I have it were all needs to be I will record the degrees of tilt in each upper and lower control arms. I will list my findings here on the forum.

I really appreciate your help!!!!! The pictures do explain alot.

BTW, who ever thought of those ball joint pucks, cudos to you!!! That is an ingenious way of mocking up that suspension!!!!

Thanks again,
Dave
