I added a little guide to wiring the TH-400 switch pitch to my site.

Check it out here:

I also wrote an article some time ago about why I decided on a TH-400.

Is a Switch pitch something specific to a certain modle year or type of the TH400?

I have a 1974 TH400 getting rebuilt right now with stronger drum and more clutches. The orignal trans was a powerglide before I swaped in the TH400 and I never got around to hook up the electronic kick down so I am unsure of what you mean by swtich pitching but it sounds like something I am interested in trying.

Yes the switch pitch is an option on a th-400. There are kits to convert your non-switch pitch 400. I am not 100% on who to get the kits from, but I ordere my whole setup from http://www.paeenterprises.com/Product_Index.html give them a look. Jim set up my transmission and I am quite pleased with it. They are based in TX I think.

Looks like they sell a conversion kit for $250 dollars.

Thanks. I am gonna look into this :)

It sounds like something I may try. This combined with a gear vendors overdrive/underdrive unit would seem to be a pretty good setup for a pro-touring car.
