Where do I start?
I have a 69 Nova with DSE 2" drop leafs, Rancho 9 way adjustable rear shocks with Caltrac bars.
The front suspension consists of Orig. small block springs, Strange 10 way single adj. shocks, Global West upper arms and Hotchkis 1-1/8 sway bar.
I'm using M/T 28x11.5x15 E.T. streets.
I took the car to the track this past Sat. just to do some 3rd gear w.o.t. tuning. we got it tuned pretty good so I tried launching hard and could not get any traction in first gear. I was told the chassis never reacted, the tires just blew off like I was on ice.
I had about 14 psi. in the tires, the caltracs were in the top hole and adj. with a 1/4 turn preload with me in drivers seat and the shocks were on the #1 setting.
The front shocks were set right in the middle.
Does anyone here have any experience/suggestions where to start?
By the way, I made a pass starting off in second gear (TH400) with a 1.67 60', 10.67 @ 129mph.
Thanks, Steve
