Since a lot of people seemed to like Larry's stinger hood, just wondered if givin a choice between $600 hoods, A quality 67 Yenko style corvette stinger hood, or this Year One hood, what would you guy's choose?
Prodigy's Stinger hood is built now, but I have to at least consider this Year One hood as an option?
Since we like the retro look, I am still leaning heavy towards the Yenko Stinger style, but there is time to change our mind.
Your thoughts?

Mid year Corvettes with big blocks had Stinger hoods. 1967 Yenkos had a stinger style scoop on a Camaro hood like this

I think the stinger hood looks really good on prodigy with that paint scheme, I would run the stinger.

That is a nice looking hood. It is something else to consider.

Prodigy, where can I purchase the stinger hood. Thats exactly what I've been wanting. Is your a one off deal or are they available to the public.

Thanks, Noel.

i believe they make a stinger hood and they are top quality, as far as you go frank, either one would look sick!!! although the stinger hood is nice

I like the stinger hood moreso than the Year One hood. They are both wicked though.

I made my own stinger type hood for my 69 Bird.....love the look.

Hi, I think the correct url is http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/site.htm
In my book, the cowl induction is still the nicest, but "everyone" has it, just like Torq-Thrust II's...

with that stinger hood, how much clearance is there. is it comparable to a 2 inch cowl, a 3 inch or something else alltogether? thanks

Hey Drew,
How did you go about fabbing the stinger scoop onto your hood? An excellent mod by the way. I have been studying this same thing for my 67 firebird.

I basically bought a Fiberglass stinger scoop, positioned it on the hood where I wanted it, traced the outline with a sharpy, removed, measured 1/2 inch inside line and then cut the hole in the hood. I then screwed the scoop to the hood and then glased the scoop to the hood from the inside. When made the transition on the top of the hood using duraglass, sanded smooth then used glasing putty to get it straight. Lots of sanding, re-applying putty and re-sanding. The scoop fit like it was made for the firebird hood.

Here's a newer pic.....picking the car up from paint tomorrow. They are color sanding and polishing today....
