Gents,
I have a 67 Firebird convertible – my question is what can I do about cowl shake? I have Competition Engineering subframe connectors, with a section cut out and the bars welded into the convertible bracing. Other car brands have shock tower braces that triangulate with the firewall sometimes. Would a 8 point roll bar help, or do I need front downtubes through the firewall down to the front subframe? I think that might be a hassle to work around. Is there anything out there that is made for this car?
Thanks.

I believe converts had a pair of counter weights in the cowl area to fix this. It acted as a dampner. Are these on your car?

as far as I know, there are four dampers, one at each corner of the car - they are weights suspended in oil, my car has all 4. but still I'll get a bug splatter at eye level on the windshield and that bug does a little dance as I'm driving - :git:
