lt-1 and 4l60E in a 1969 camaro

I am looking to put a new drivetrain into my 69 camaro. before i get to far into it, will a 4l60E fit into the tunnel of a 69 w/o mods. Also, with enough manuals, could a semi-weekend mechanic pull this off w/ enough time and help. finally whats a good price for this drivetrain w/ around 40000 miles on it.

Yes it can be done but only a slight mod to the side of the tunnel, if you get an LT1 make sure it has the camaro oil pan fitted but get the vette engine as it got the better accessories ,the reason you need the camaro oil pan as its not as deep and will not hit the front crossmember ,also get 1 latter than 94 due to oppi spark problem get wet and shorting
