View Full Version : IRS "jacking" - blame it on the RC height, or the LCA angle?

Theoretical suspension design question here.

Wouldn't a flatter LCA angle do at least as much to reduce jacking as messing with the RC height itself?

It seems to me that the jacking effect is rooted in the tire contact patch moving outward as the suspension compresses. In a lateral-G situation that indirectly tries to raise up the body in response. Solid axles don't have the same effect because the track width doesn't change as the axle goes up & down.
