It kind of sad that the east coast doesn't talk more on here

Old Thread but still right on point... doesn't seem to be a lot of chatter up here in New England LOL. Maybe its the COVID, 2 years now and its certainly put a damper on car shows and cruise nights in Western Mass. Hopefully 2022 will see it start to taper off by the summer? Right now this Omicron is really wreaking havoc and making people feistier than ever.-Mike

I agree Old Timer. The New England region does not seem to have embraced the pro-touring thing as much as other area's. That said my car always get a lot of interest when I go to cars and coffee or local shows. Maybe there is a slight turn in interest up here in NE.

On another note when I go to the road course to do a track day where I am a member of (https://clubmotorsports.com)
(http://"https://clubmotorsports.com">Clubmotorsports</a) my car is the odd car out in a sea of Porsche's, BMW's, Corvette's and Miata's. That is until we hit the track and it does better than many of them and keeps up with many of the faster street cars. Usually by the second session they are over looking at the car, asking questions and really into the build.

Would really like to get a Pro-Touring car track day event set up up here in New England to get some of the people who build these cars together for some fun!

Cheers, Steve

I'm new to this sport and site, so will try to check back in. I also would love to find autocross in NE for our type of cars. I did my first last summer and felt out of place having a car that was 40 years older than the others.
I hope Musclepalooza comes back to Eastern NY. At least it's an all vintage muscle car drag day.

I agree, there isn't as much going on in the Northeast. I'm here in between Binghamton and Ithaca, NY. I've done a few autocross events in Horseheads and one in Romulus. Hopefully I can attend more this summer.

When they had the Good Guys show at the Big E in West Springfield, they had an autocross track setup and I remember there were a few 1st Gen Camaro's having at it. Were any of you guys there? I still haven't been to Palmer Motorsports park to see any event, and unfortunately haven't been at Lime Rock since our BMW M3 club days. I've been to Lebanon to help out a friend who was re-qualifying for his sub-10 second deal, but haven't been to Musclepalooza recently. The last few years I've been getting my "track" kicks with my grandson and son at the cart track up Hatfield, MA. We started with old Poppi beating both of them but they've progressed and now regularly get by me!-Mike

What year was the BigE event? I see them only getting as far north as PA in 2022.
I saw my friend race in Palmer. Saw him send a Vette into a wall, then saw him into a wall. I might try a track-day there, but I'm not ready to race on the side of a mountain yet. I think Limerock also has track days. I need more $ and a trailer.

...but haven't been to Musclepalooza recently....We went to one of those at englishtown a number of years ago. Fun watching those factory and factory appearing cars run.
