I am lowering my 68 c10 3 inches in the front, and 5 inches in the rear. I have heard that I will need to move the upper shock mounts to accommodate the lowered rear axle. I have looked at kits for doing this and I am confident I could easily build my own mounts, I am just wondering what kind of angle I need on the shocks. I know in offroading it is typically 90 degrees at rest on the bump stop, is it the same for street use?. Also I was looking at the lower shock mounts, and if I were to swap them, they would move the shock behind the axle, which would give the shock more leverage on the trailing arm correct? (moving the shock further out the arm means less leverage for the arm?) so would this be a better mounting place or no?. I was looking at the "hellboy" rear suspension and noticed that the shocks on that rear suspension are also mounted on the rear of the axle. Does this improve handling?
