Hi all;

just found this old thread about a guy that stretched his rear fenders on his first-gen Firebird....are there any other examples of people that finished a wide-body Firebird?

I'm thinking about what I can do with my car, but definitely don't want it to look over-done like these two photos, just a bit wider stance than stock even with mini-tubs. Thanks!!

This too is a bit too wide for what I want to do with my car;

Here's a cool link that shows one way to do it. The way they did flared the fenders on this car looks really good and flows rather than just sticking out around the stock wheel wells.

And here is another way which is much more subtle and less work, depends on what you're going for. It's not a firebird but should give you an idea.

Gordonr1973,
I have been working on an '68' firebird for a few years that I have widened out 3 inches on each side. Also I mini tubbed it 2 3/4 inches and now have 18 inches of wheel tub before the tires stick out of the wheel wells.
What I am going for is a car that looks just like a stock Firebird at first sight but can't figure out why it looks so mean!!!
Here is the link.

The way JCG did their 68 Firebird made it look great. I saw it in person when it was still in primer. The difference was subtle but makes the car look more aggressive. I plan to do the same with one of mine.
