Anybody have any experience with the smith racecraft bolt in four link it looks nice as it retains the stock frame rails but doesn't rely so much on those flimsy rails. I'm mainly just building a street car but thought this kit looks nice.

I would like to see longer upper control arms so that pinion angles wouldn't change as much due to travel. If the upper bracket was rotated backwards on the housing more length could be had. Another guy just posted asking about the street or track 3-link. IMO its a better design and the price is the same.

Twinstang, Smith Racecraft builds a great product but when they say 'track' they are referring to the drag strip. Their suspension system is designed to optimize straight line performance. Also, it's for Camaro only. From your screen name I'm betting you have a Mustang.

If you're putting together a Mustang I would encourage you to check out our Total Control Products gLink (http://www.cachassisworks.com/download/BuyersGuides/BG_400/BG_400_WEB.pdf)system. It'll take whatever power you can throw at it. We have had a few customers tie the suspension pickup points into their cage for additional support.

Don't let the name fool you I have a 69 camaro and kept my old screen name from other boards when I had a twin turbo mustang. I called them and they said it's geared more for the street then track but I'm still Leary about the kit for the street even though it's a real nice looking kit.

Ha, fair enough! Well, if you click the link I posted above it actually has info on the Camaro systems we offer too. It's the same suspension that Steve Rupp is putting in "Track Rat." There's some more good info here (http://www.cachassisworks.com/Attachments/DataSheets/58XX-XXX_DS_WEB.pdf)and you can read the instructions here (http://www.cachassisworks.com/Attachments/Instructions/915804-F10.pdf).

You're right, the stock Camaro rails aren't very strong. The same reasoning applies; if you're going to run a fair amount of power, tie it into the rest of the chassis. If you're going to make BIG power, then a complete backhalf rear frame like this (http://www.cachassisworks.com/Attachments/Instructions/915804-F10.pdf) is the best option.
