In the process of getting my stock subframe prepped for paint after welding up all the seams. I will be using a complete Ride Tech coil over suspension with Tru Turn. I was wondering what a good steering box choice would be. Thanks for the input.

Talk to Mark at S,C & C, he has the best price, you won't believe the difference!

Do you have headers? If so you likely will have clearance issues with a 670 box. I also have a First Gen Firebird with a 455, stock subframe, headers and power steering. After talking with Tom Lee at Lee Mfg I went with a build of my 800 box. The fit between Dougs headers and the 800 is about 1/4". It's fine. Sure the 670 box is smaller, except right where the headers go on our cars. That's where the 670 is WIDER.

A discussion of 670 vs 800 boxes:

I will have headers and already test fit them (Hedmann) with the stock box and they fit great.

Lee Mfg built my 800 steering box with a 12:1 constant ratio, rebuilt my pump and did a dry pump conversion. Now I run a remote reservoir and will never have overheating issues with PS. The steering feel is excellent.

D port heads, headers & A670 box, fits like a glove!

Contact Tom Lee himself and get the box directly from them... There were adjustments to my stock power steering pump orifice that Tom corrected for my Lee 12 to 1 box to work properly...
