I'm in the process of installing a R&C Motorsports RC-106 kit in my 70 Ford Torino GT. I noticed some areas that I could easily reinforce, so for now I just tacked in some 3/16" plate as can be seen in the pictures. What I am wondering is how to reinforce where the shock towers once sat. I already have 14g patch panels made up, but thinking I might want to tie in to the frame for more rigidity.
I highlighted in red what I think would be a good start, maybe form a D-shaped piece from (3/16") ?
Any ideas are appreciated.
